driverdan··on Why is this fingerprinting script creating bioweapons?
Yes https://huggingface.co/models?other=abliterated
driverdan··on Big Tech's thirst for water is sparking a global resistance
Anyone angry about DC water use should be much more angry about golf courses. They use far more water and often overuse pesticides that can run off and leach into ground water.
driverdan··on Why is this fingerprinting script creating bioweapons?
I tried fetching https://killai.now/archive using Claude chat to see how it would handle it but you've blocked them. If you want to poison you probably shouldn't block.
driverdan··on Why is this fingerprinting script creating bioweapons?
A while ago I tested questions about Tienanmen Square and Tank Man with various open Chinese LLMs and one or two closed ones, I think GLM 5.2. None of them refused to answer or blocked the keywords. They gave responses politically aligned with China. Abliterated models gave proper responses.
driverdan··on Why is this fingerprinting script creating bioweapons?
I've had it in my profile for a while. Since they removed it I guess I have to try these bioweapon prompt injection strings to see if that will work.
driverdan··on Mac Studio M5 Ultra 512GB Officially Released
> Enthusiasts generally don't see a "return on investment" on their luxury cars

I hate to break it to you but the same thing has happened with cars. Many in-demand performance cars like the GT3 RS have been appreciating.

driverdan··on Tesla Semi catches fire on I-880
That's gasoline. Diesel doesn't explode.
driverdan··on Evidence of a spying operation by ICE against left-wing social movements
If you read the DHS document it sounds like Fly.io and Stripe are complacent. They provided data without fighting the subpoenas. Warrants should be required for this data.

driverdan··on New iMac with M6
A mini would add one extra part (the mini) and two extra cables (power + thunderbolt). The mini can be attached to the back of the monitor eliminating the extra part. How is that harder?
driverdan··on New iMac with M6
How is an all-in-one better than a mini attached to the back of a monitor, or better yet locked in a cabinet for security?
driverdan··on New iMac with M6
I don't understand why someone would buy this. It's $1700 for the same computer as a $900 Mac mini. The antiquated 24" monitor, keyboard, and mouse are not worth the extra $800. You can buy a very nice 32" monitor and better input devices for less than that.
driverdan··on Diamond Transistor
Is there any new information here? They've been working on this for years and their last news post was almost a year ago. Is there progress? Is it viable yet?
driverdan··on Just imagining a workout can make you stronger (2016)
This is the study, it's 10 years old: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4923126/

The headline implies something that would be misleading if you don't know how strength works. It's not about increasing the abilities of your muscles, it's motor learning or the ability to use your muscles. Your strength isn't just what your muscles are physically capable of doing. It's also your ability to use those muscles. You need to train your brain and motor pathways how to optimally use them. This is the mind body problem or mind body connection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind%E2%80%93body_problem

My personal anecdote is that this is quite effective. Anyone trying to lift heavy weight is going to psych themselves up beforehand. Part of that is thinking about the lift, how they'll do it, and how they'll succeed. It definitely helps.

driverdan··on In Leaked Audio, Flock CEO Tells Cops Backlash to the Company Isn't Real
Correlation is not causation. Do you actually have any data or research to support your claim from an unbiased source? A far right blogger is far from unbiased.

FWIW Benn Jordan, who has his own biases, analyzed this data in his latest video and found it had no impact on most crimes but did have a small improvement in clearance rates for one category.

driverdan··on I refuse to accept a censored Internet. Join Me at FOSDEM 27
Read the post. It's about government censorship, not content moderation.
driverdan··on Root shell on Samsung TV
It's not. They can use your IP to see your approximate location is on a lake or your buddy did search and it associated to you via shared IP.
driverdan··on Root shell on Samsung TV
Don't connect it to the internet.
driverdan··on Dessa: Conversation Model trained only on speech
I came here to say the same thing. I don't want a computer constantly inserting stop words, pauses, laughing unnecessarily and interrupting me. This seems technically impressive but is not something I'd want to interact with.
driverdan··on LLMs are making formal software verification feasible at a much larger scale
Have you talked with a mental health professional? There's a lot of negativity in your comment that suggests larger issues than your concerns about LLMs.
driverdan··on Run full iOS 16.5 firmware on Android Devices
Sounds like a huge win to me. Neither of those should be required. Replace Apple's walled garden with open login and open stores.
driverdan··on Quad9 to exit France
Updating my reply, the CTO said they'll likely do GeoIP blocking even though it's not effective.
driverdan··on Quad9 (DNS Resolver) to Exit France
You keep using it. They're not going to block your IP but response times may drop since they won't have any servers in France.
driverdan··on PHP2Shell: AI uncovers critical RCE in PHP
The language is not why there are CVEs. They assign CVEs to most patches. Watch this talk by one of the maintainers to understand it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnV_cWeoo5Q
driverdan··on PingCap TiDB Leaks
Sounds about right. The more you use the deeper the discount they'll give you.
driverdan··on PHP2Shell: AI uncovers critical RCE in PHP
Why is that depressing? PHP is just as capable as everything else out there. It may not be our first choice but its use is not depressing.
driverdan··on Facebook Pages require paid subscription to post more than two links per month
The feed is dead but everything else is very much alive. Pages, events, and marketplace are still used by most people.
driverdan··on Florida's HOAs and condo associations are making the housing crisis worse
They empower grumpy assholes to play police and impose their will on you.
driverdan··on Florida's HOAs and condo associations are making the housing crisis worse
That's a false dichotomy. Everyone has to comply with laws regardless of what neighborhood they live in. The only difference is that the HOA has more stupid rules than the city. I'd rather have fewer rules.
driverdan··on Florida's HOAs and condo associations are making the housing crisis worse
> houses patchily painted lavender

What's wrong with lavender? Why does everything have to be a boring tan or grey? You sound like the exact reason I would never buy a house with an HOA.

driverdan··on Claude reveals ECDSA curve origins
We should be certain that the crypto algos we use are secure. It would be a great use of their resources to try to break crypto.
