There was an interesting kickstarter called Beam that was a projector + an android device in a lightbulb form factor. I used it to make an art installation above a coffee table for my company’s lobby. A revamped Beam with a camera/Lidar would be really fun!

Reality verification is a very important problem and I'm glad Apple and others are working on it.

Most people would be better off doing one sleep study. Depth over breadth

I better not get more spam iMessages!!

If you are running ios 27 beta is this the model when you hit voice to text on the native keyboard?

Design flaw vs manufacturing/logistics problem

If it is swarms of drones thats the risk. Couldn’t we have defensive drone swarms? Isn’t anduril working on drone submarine? Just trying to understand how we can tactically defeat this problem since politics doesn’t seem to be a solution here.

I’ve been looking for something like your brothers app. Used to use an app called helium for floating video windows. I’ll check it out!

Depends on the industry and your experience plus your access to capital. Sorry for the non-answer

Doing something similar. Bought a business in the petroleum equipment service space. Building internal tools for ourselves. Pen and paper still dominates the industry.

How much dod it cost and plan to invest in the resort?

Used to do that at school with an old palm pilot. Good times.

Whats the units?

Awesome job!

There's a series called 100 ft wave on HBO. Great overview of the big wave community.

This looks awesome. Embedded programming doesn’t get enough love. Did you think about making this an MCP (aka plugin) service that general agents a la claude code can leverage?

I bought a speed queen which is more geared to commercial usage, but you can buy without coin slots. Has two knobs and one button!

This was smart advertising for his consulting practice he is starting.

You are right! Was thinking of the same artist just a different project he did. https://fabianoefner.com/the-bialetti-book/

Video on the project https://vimeo.com/354927033

Hmm. I think he sliced it after he encapsulated it. Or that's my memory! So he had a "book" of cut acrylic sheets/layers of the object.

This is awesome! Reminds me of an artist that would encapsulate items like cameras into resin and then slice them with a water jet cutter creating a different version of an 'exploded view'. Can't find the link.

Surprised that there isn’t a kibbutz trend in the US with this sentiment.

> Or take fragmented markets. Same question: how could US startups successfully conquer these fragmented EU markets when European startups can't?

I think this assumption is wrong. By the time a “startup” in the US expands into Europe they are really not a “startup” anymore. They have a proven business model in the US and have raised 100Ms. So succeeding in Europe is not a fair comparison. When Airbnb expanded into Europe in 2011 they had raised 120m and acquired a company in Germany to kickstart the expansion.

I agree. I’ve been looking for a “smart” watch strap or strap clasp I can use with my vintage seiko watch. I just want vibration alerts when very specific things happen on my phone. My wife is calling etc. Dont need all the features or display of a typical smart watch. Too distracting.

This is why I buy “commercial” appliances when I can. My speed queen washer and dryer each have two knobs and a start button. Thats all you need. I doubt I will need to ever replace them.

Using the aquarium chillers is really smart! Just need someone to mfg the mattress membrane covers.
