There is practically no empirical evidence in this article, just reliance on vague "indicators" and the time of tweets. Forgive me for taking this with a massive grain of salt.

Maybe, from a libertarian "I got mine"/"I did this all on my own" attitude. But, damn that is a simplistic, selfish outlook
Devaluing the currency as a form of redistribution downward seems to be way more radical then devaluing it for wealth transfers to military contractors and large institutions. Why is that?
It's similar to why tax a corporation? They will just move elsewhere. Also, a dubious assertion. Not all corporation will simply pack up and move out of an economy like the USA.
Or why raise minimum wage? It'll cause an equal rise in inflation. There is no law stating the inflation will be exactly proportional to rise in wages.
I wonder if 'social proof' is easier to fake/generate on social media with Sybil attacks (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sybil_attack) as well as payment to real individuals to vouch for something they don't actually use
I wonder if people will/are starting not trust these measures of social proof
Simple blaming it on the culture of a people seems myopic
