emvideo··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)
Hey Steve,

I'm a video producer that makes videos for solo founders and small startups shipping software products, so this caught my interest.

I had a few issues when trying to run it and sent an email to the support address on the site, but it got returned as undeliverable.

Just wanted to give you a heads up in case you have an issue with the email setup on your end.

I've used Opus a few times and always found it lacking as well. I'd be interested in a clip maker that doesn't miss context.

This is interesting, but I've got questions.

I spend a lot of time in Screen Studio (I make videos for software companies) and this looks similar, but for time lapses specifically.

I can see the use case for digital artists. But the talking head demos are confusing because I'm assuming you can't hear what the spokesperson is saying (otherwise they'd sound like a chipmunk) - so what's the point of having them on screen during the time lapse?

I use retiming a lot to speed up screen footage but never speed up narration. Can you time lapse the screen footage while keeping the spokesperson footage 1x?

I make videos (demos, ads, tutorials) for software companies and am generally quoting day rates for prospects, so this seems right up my alley.

I'd love to see how it works without having to sign up though. Do you have a YT channel or similar so I can get a better idea of the fit before handing over an email address? What about pricing?

As a video content creator, I'm curious if you would mind sharing the agentic stuff you're doing for others?

That's wild timing. I just launched a service this week that turns your marketing site into a video ad (no AI, just a honed in video editing process) and have been thinking about a tool like this. It could speed up my workflow considerably.

One thing that I really need for my specific use-case is the ability to pass a selector, e.g. .team-card, and automatically grab snaps of each one with some default settings like a specific border radius, plain mode.

I'll keep an eye on this for sure.
