en··on The End of Handwriting
As I am mainly left-handed, I learned to like writing with a nice wooden pencil, like Faber-Castell, and a sharpener. Then, if it is something serious and if it is possible to use a felt pen, I use Staedtler or Faber-Castell felt pens in different sizes. I hate ballpoint pens.

The saddest thing today is to realize that I can't use Firefox without extensions on privacy/security.
en··on Why Sleep Apnea Patients Rely on a CPAP Machine Hacker
The risk of sleep apnea increases with age, as well as the morphology (small neck, ...) or neurological problem: https://www.atsjournals.org/doi/full/10.1513/pats.200709-155...

Obesity sleep apnea ≠ Age and morphology sleep apnea, the first can be cured by weight loss, the second is a lifelong "disease" (except surgery that does not last).

en··on Detection of radioactive iodine at trace levels in Europe in January 2017
As someone said below, this incident took place 2 weeks ago in a non-nuclear part. And half-life of iodine-131 is 8 days.

Many installations in Europe and neighboring countries are allowed to reject iodine-131 in the air. From Nuclear power plants (nuclear power stations, nuclear fuel reprocessing plant, etc.) to medical field (isotope reactors, nuclear medicine, waste incinerators, etc.).

9 mBq/m3 mesured for Fukushima (France, Valence). IRSN reports 1.5 µBq/m3 (gaseous + particulate fractions) or 0.31 µBq/m3 (particulate) for this event.

The releases of January 2017 are 10,000 times lower than those observed (in France) following the Fukushima incident[0]

CRIIRAD[1] believes that the meteorological conditions (and air pollution actually in Europe) and (legal) authorizations of iodine-131 releases by the industry are the cause of this event which could have passed unnoticed[0]

It is an unimportant event.

en··on My fight against CDN libraries
Maybe not the best solution, but for the js CDN of Google, I'am using a self hosted mirror with this list https://github.com/euh/googleapis-libraries-list

Unfortunately in HTTPS, I need to bypass HSTS protection and for Firefox it's annoying (I don't know for Chrome).

For the fonts I tried to create a self hosted mirror too, but Google does not offer to download exactly the exact fonts they host.
