equasar··on DeepSeek-v4.1-Flash-1017
I think I do quite the same as you, complex features, not anything basic.
equasar··on DeepSeek-v4.1-Flash-1017
Google's Argon model via antigravity is unusable, for a small code review I asked, already spent like 10% of the weekly usage, in less than 10 mins. Very useless imho.

I always find DS or Qwen to be very spot on on audit changes or plans for just a few cents.

equasar··on DeepSeek-v4.1-Flash-1017
I'm baffled, my $20 is enough for me to do some consulting, personal projects and side work, and still cannot outran my quotas, I'm building different kind of things: flutter apps, dotnet backend, database, front end, architecture diagrams, code exploration, tests, PowerShell scripts.

How people spend more than 200 usd monthly is beyond my understanding, are you guys so inefficient with the usage? or I am the opposite?

equasar··on Plan mode is dead
I think this is the clearest example of: exceptions don't make the rules.

Author might be a vibe coder, designer or someone who does not do really heavy and complicated development, maybe some api here and there.

But it is pretty obvious that a very concerned engineer would not allow any of that, for critical systems.

equasar··on Plan mode is dead
This is an out of touch with reality thing to say. Remember: not everyone has access to unlimited usage/money to spend tokens or the most expensive models with the higher thinking settings, exceptions does not make the rules.
equasar··on Performance Improvements in .NET 11
Thanks Stephen for this, it is very rewarding to read something very technical that is not AI slop these days.
equasar··on VoidZero Is Joining Cloudflare
These tools are already written in rust.
equasar··on Angular v22
explain your use case, I always wonder what kind of scenarios people do have, it is something easily solved? it is complicated? what is stopping you?
equasar··on Using Kagi Search with Low Vision
the thing I really miss when I use magic, is recommended places from Google maps, where to watch certain movie/series, a lot of things like that, where you can infer recommendations based on your location. Kagi might be good to filter everything scored "bad", but makes you work more.
equasar··on Anonymous request-token comparisons from Opus 4.6 and Opus 4.7
The thing I dislike about OpenCode is the lack of capabilities of their editor, also, resource intensive, for some reason on a VM it chuckles each 30 mins, that I need to discard all sessions, commits, etc.

I don't know if it is bun related, but in task manager, is the thing that is almost at the top always on CPU usage, turns out for me, bun is not production ready at all.

Wish Zed editor had something like BigPickle which is free to use without limits.

equasar··on OpenClaw privilege escalation vulnerability
Why would I do that? I am entirely good using LLMs like Claude building tools for me. There's no use case for OpenClawthat I am aware of can replace of what I have/need.

I think it makes my point strong, people who uses OpenClaw, might be lazy on how to do things properly with LLMs.

equasar··on Show HN: VS Code Agent Kanban: Task Management for the AI-Assisted Developer
Can we stop all these vibe-coded projects landing on the front page? It is annoying. Just feels like reddit.
equasar··on The history of C# and TypeScript with Anders Hejlsberg [video]
Completely agree, HN is mostly anti .NET/C#. It rarely gains attraction, and when it does, people bashes it with unfounded or very outdated info from another era.
equasar··on ManusAI Joins Meta
I’m wondering why these companies are so hyped and valued at these astronomical levels. Honestly, nothing really impresses me enough to think, “Wow, this company actually deserves that kind of valuation”.

These valuations are to the point point that this looks too close to money laundering, just like buying art.

equasar··on AutoMapper and Mediatr Going Commercial
MassTransit has gone commercial too, not that I care but somehow ppl rely on these libraries.
equasar··on Bitcoin is over $100k
Not surprised. They're minting Tether USD out of thin air to inflate the price, so it's no shock.
equasar··on Scientists glue two proteins together, driving cancer cells to self-destruct
Wonder if the study is freely available without paywall.
equasar··on Scientists glue two proteins together, driving cancer cells to self-destruct
Can other countries conduct trials for these treatments at the patient's own risk?
equasar··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (October 2024)
This is very interesting. I would paid for something like that, that could work for any popular video social media platform.
equasar··on Show HN: One – A new React framework unifying web, native and local-first
Most likely.
equasar··on Insights from over 10,000 comments on "Ask HN: Who Is Hiring" using GPT-4o
Another thing to improve this, is to ask posters to add GLOBAL_REMOTE, COUNTRY_REMOTE or something that indicates is not local remote only (within the same country).
equasar··on PayPal to offer crypto services in UK; Taiwan to make Bitcoin legal Tender
so recently crypto is trying to make a fake pump so whales dump their remaining bags. Cannot believe how easily is to rip off people in this market.
equasar··on Localsend: Open-Source Airdrop Alternative
Isn't WiFi Direct limited to 250mbps? looks like an archaic way to share files.
equasar··on Localsend: Open-Source Airdrop Alternative
I tried and it is super slow. LocalSend was like 10x faster sending a 400mb video.
equasar··on Java 21 makes me like Java again
Second this. But here in hacker news, C# is hated for no reason, just the old Microsoft mantra and NET Framework
equasar··on .NET Myths Dispelled
proof?
equasar··on State of JavaScript 2021
Angular is simpler for me than React. I don truly understand the hate. I can built applications fasters in angular than React. I still use React sometimes, but I always go back to Angular.
equasar··on Google no longer producing high quality search results in significant categories
Google will block your API/site right away
equasar··on Drunk Post: Things I've Learned as a Sr Engineer
Maybe because they are expensive to breed and keep them alive. Not an expert to say if they are worth or not. Nature wants them out but human wants to keep them.
