I have to explain that, yes, I'm looking at other options, but I'm also exploring this option and need to answer this specific question.
People try to use "X Y problem" to feel superior somehow.

I tried to post on r/showerthoughts several times over the past 10 years. And every time it deleted my post saying my thought wasn't original. I was wow how they would even know that, and this was pre-AI.
Nobody here intends to have an actual conversation including you. You know this but still act obtuse.
If a kid made a scene in public back in 1950, they would be smacked. In fact, in many countries in the world, people are still pro-smacking. Teachers can smack the kids with no moral issue.
Mental health for kids before 2000 was much worse... to be generous to the older generations.
But Americans and westerners visit these countries and they love it. They would be like wow the countries are paradise, so convenient, and etc.
If we didn't know, then the correct action would be to exercise pre-caution.
> at that time there was perceived to be a strong likelihood of supply shortages that would affect medical providers worldwide
Then, say that. Instead they specifically recommended against masks and said masks wasn't effective.
COVID is visibly like a flu where people cough. Saying masks doesn't work for flu-like diseases raises red flags... but people who dared questioning it were branded "anti-science".
Well, you haven't traveled much to other countries, I suppose.
Trump would look like an angel compared to other leaders in developing countries.
However, enough people find those things valuable enough that Obsidian has millions of paying users.
I don't think software really need to penetrate more than 1% of the market to be profitable. If Obsidian penetrated even 10% of the market, they would have been worth >$30B lol.
This is kinda amusing.
An antitrust case over an AI girlfriend... I didn't even know there was a monopoly on that.
I imagine, when your company grew astronomically fast to the level that was unseen in the past, the investors would be a lot more forgiving.
People have a hard time differentiating between bets vs. fraud.
OpenAI is a bet. Maybe a bad bet. Sure. But everyone knows it is a bet. Their investors are experienced and multi-millionaires with teams of analysts. They cannot just act like they are dumb. Not say it's impossible but highly unlikely they can just claim they don't know any better.
SBF was a fraud for using the customers' funds. The customers were promised that their money wouldn't be used for anything. And their customers are average people. Albeit, SBF's investments are pretty godlike based on the current valuations.
Write once, deploy everywhere like React Native mainly benefits small teams and startups who are okay with building 90/10 solutions.
At the shopify's scale, they would want to go advance for every corner of the apps and use cases, and only native allows that.
What I've realized is that Spotify is great for discovering new songs. But I'm a grown up and listen to the same hundreds of songs every day anyway. No need to keep paying the taxes.
We'll see.
Almost every house in my neighborhood has 1-2 cameras pointing around their houses. When there's an issue, my neighbors share the footages with the group, and that's so useful. And I live in a very very democrat state/city.
Also, we should definitely address the privacy and access control issue with Flock. Removing the cameras isn't the right solution.
From their views, the right isn't trampled. It's a win
Burn.
Twitter was full of dramas at the exec and founder level, and that impacted their execution.
Facebook had strong leadership, was very focused, and executed well.
But then nobody really screams apocalypse. But, in US, people are so alarmed about US' economy collapsing.
Why do they need to pay it back? If they pay it back, then what will happen?
I'm from a developing country. My country is objectively much worse than US in every aspect. My country doesn't export anything significant. There's no innovation. insane level of corruption. Yet we don't have this issue. Nobody screams that the country will collapse.
Is this kind of doomsday thinking an American-only culture?
Therefore, this is opposite of praying on the kids.
