Interesting. I guess open source is not as dependable as it used to be

Harness is the key. I built my own to "talk" our institutional knowledge and it's working great

Same for me, with Claude Opus/Sonnet. All the models are almost equivalent if well steered
ericfr11··on DeepSeek V4 Pro 0813
I am still on Opus 4.8, with a custom built harness and it works very well even on multi-repos, across stack, deep changes. I also have a very solid test suite which is helping the coding agent a lot

I guess your bubble is limited. Maybe you know that already?
ericfr11··on Are we offloading too much of our thinking to AI?
But the AI would not be able to perform live on a stage, producing emotions. I can't imagine staying 3 hours in a crowded room looking at a robot or a computer screen, even if it produces great music. Or if we get to that point, what gives the right and permission for humans to exist anymore?
ericfr11··on Are we offloading too much of our thinking to AI?
What if the original idea/concept was from a human, who used an LLM to extend and write the book?

ericfr11··on AI job grief: A psychological crisis hitting tech workers
We should also be cautious to not characterize an article we don't like as slop
ericfr11··on AI job grief: A psychological crisis hitting tech workers
As a human, I relate to a few of the article's points. You might not have felt it yet. It will come sooner than you might think
ericfr11··on AI job grief: A psychological crisis hitting tech workers
Managers are also losing their jobs
ericfr11··on AI job grief: A psychological crisis hitting tech workers
I would venture that you are able to live this life because others are not. What if everyone was growing their own food, and fixing plumbing: who would be a doctor, a snowboard maker, making phones/internet that we rely on to plan/communicate/learn. Its almost impossible to do everything by yourself, unless we go back to the life of our hunting ancestors

If the US stopped getting into futile wars, the world would be very different
ericfr11··on Belgium stops decommissioning nuclear power plants
It follows Europe's energy policies (declaring nuclear climate-friendly). France is ahead of the US when it comes to civil nuclear plants strategy.

What is this obsession with winning? Are you so scared?
ericfr11··on Oracle may slash up to 30k jobs to fund AI data-centers as US banks retreat
When a country leader says "another country leader won't last without my approval", he becomes an imperialist driven by power and money
ericfr11··on Oracle may slash up to 30k jobs to fund AI data-centers as US banks retreat
Not according to the 30k Oracle employees, or Block, ... Wealth is only increasing for the top 0.1%. Milk (and other commodities) are still more expensive than in 2020. Young people's unemployment rate is way higher
ericfr11··on Father claims Google's AI product fuelled son's delusional spiral
Maybe, but let's say the same person was playing with a gun. Would they reach the same outcome? Most likely
ericfr11··on Father claims Google's AI product fuelled son's delusional spiral
Agree. Next question will be: should a blind person drive a self-driving car?
