I spent a good 30 seconds trying to figure out what DDS was an acronym for in this context.

They have been around as a significant service provider for over a decade in a highly regulated industry. Ask anyone in the brokerage world and they will not care if there’s a Wikipedia entry. They are a huge player and have been for a while.

I have been shopping for pickup truck bed organization racks that are in the thousands of dollars, but can never pull the trigger because they do not seem like they should cost that much. I think there's one thing that should be clarified from the article. "Sponsored" does not mean that the product is "sponsored by Amazon" as italicized in the article. It means the seller paid money to be at the top of the search query.

Perhaps it is a healthy dose of old aged jadedness, but I have a habit of trying to avoid Sponsored items.

Without explaining your expectations that 7.3 number is nothing more than wishful thinking to someone that might be interested in your product. On top of that, your accredited investors have a short track record of returns and do not reflect the product you are soliciting - you admit it isn’t the same return structure. Without showing your work you are going to have a hard time convincing someone this is worthy of a commitment.

You are soliciting "indications of interest" with an estimated 7.3% yield with no justification whatsoever on the site to back it up.

Fixed assets depreciate over time, but fixed-income securities do not unless you are assuming inflation.

1. How are you defining risk in this context and comparing it to the stock market? There is no track record shown in the FAQs.

2. What is the "somewhat" in "somewhat predictable"? The 7.3% estimated returns seem to come out of thin air with no backing calculations to them.

3. How are you returning capital to investors? This is nowhere in the FAQ. Do I actually get what I put in back or am I buying an interest rate depending on the life of the panels hoping to break even at some point?

4. If there is no secondary market, how do I re-coup any of my initial investment? Am I locked in for life? Circles back to question 3, is the principal returned after a fixed amount of time?

5. Do I receive a K-1 and operating losses due to panel depreciation?

I own 2 (muffled) V8s and a Tesla. I have only ever been mocked for the Tesla reverse drone.

The named authors on the blog post are an amazing set of engineers and the type that would have added a lot of introspection and expertise to what happened while maintaining a high-level of lightheartedness. I spent a number of years at Slack and was involved in a postmortem in my first week as an Engineering Manager. I was impressed by how excellent practices were borrowed from Etsy in the early days and then magnified by Google's practices. As someone who once had to run these sessions and distill the learnings in to the wee hours of the morning this is great to hear.

This is awesome because we had a bikeshedding image floating around Slack's Slack instance that was posted with enough frequency that I remember it.

Facebook Groups have almost completely replaced some internet automotive aftermarket bulletin boards where no one ever searched anyways. If there's one major positive to the normalization of FB Groups it's the absence of inane "did you search?" comments. Though I do wish people would search. :lol:

I used to be a "forum junkie", but FB Groups has completely replaced that behavior. I don't know if it's better or worse, but at least I am not checking 5 different forums anymore. The forums come to me.
