fallenshell··on Removing Python 2.x support from Django for version 2.0
Nope, Python 3 is a sane upgrade to a sane language bringing many enhancements to the consistency and reliability of Python. And it is being used in many production systems already.
fallenshell··on Former Apple engineer: Tim Cook made Apple a 'boring operations company'
What does free software vs. proprietary software have to do with this? Low quality comment.

I absolutely died! It was so funny.

I saw a guy with the ISIS flag making a speech... I'm probably on some list now.
fallenshell··on Why I switched from OS X to Linux
Have you taken a look at elementaryOS?
fallenshell··on The Monaco Code Editor
This is more holy war material than anything really. Emacs is just an editor.
fallenshell··on The Monaco Code Editor
I've been an avid Sublime user for many years and still am, and this is what puts me off any electron based editor or app in general. The requirements for the most trivial things are so high, it is insane. Try running Atom on a AMD E1 laptop. TLDR, not very nice.
fallenshell··on Urbit is now in open developer beta
Same. I didn't understand a single word in there, because there is nothing to look at there.
fallenshell··on ASUS delivers BIOS/UEFI auto-updates over HTTP with no verification
Purism and Apple
fallenshell··on Undocumented Facebook API to identify friends in photos
This is scary.
fallenshell··on AMD Radeon RX 480: June 29th for $199
They are not that bad, I have an APU laptop and they work flawlessly so far. However, owning an Nvidia rig, the nvidia drivers are much much better.
fallenshell··on Python 2.7 Retirement Countdown
This was a major release. 2 to 3.
fallenshell··on Python 2.7 Retirement Countdown
It's called "moving forward". The technology sector moves fast, and you need to keep up. Nothing is ever going to get better with that sedentary mindset.
fallenshell··on Python 2.7 Retirement Countdown
Man, the amount of people and support going for Python 2.7 is mind boggling. Coming from another language, I find the slow adoption of Python 3 insane. Don't you want Python as a language to advance?

Python should've abandoned and deprecated 2 ages ago. I still see new tutorials teaching 2. What the hell.

fallenshell··on SELinux is beyond saving
Really hoping that was sarcasm.
fallenshell··on Show HN: I couldn't figure out what an Emoji meant, so I made WhatMoji.com
There was this project called emoji.js I think that you embed in your site and transforms all emoji it sees into Apple Emoji, the standard, and works for everyone even without emoji installed. give it a shot.
fallenshell··on $12M stolen from 1,400 convenience store ATMs across Japan in 2 hours
Vulnerabilities.
fallenshell··on Show HN: JSONScript – Asynchronous scripting language using JSON format
Really hoping that was sarcasm...
fallenshell··on Show HN: JSONScript – Asynchronous scripting language using JSON format
Not necessarily. It just shows people are willing to experiment with JSON, even though it might end up badly.
fallenshell··on Our Week Without Slack
I'd quit the same day if I had to work in that office.

Exaggeration aside, how do you guys get anything done?

fallenshell··on Show HN: JSONScript – Asynchronous scripting language using JSON format
Agreed.
fallenshell··on Show HN: JSONScript – Asynchronous scripting language using JSON format
This exact concept has been done multiple times. And it never worked, because the syntax was horrible. And it's just not convenient at all, it's good for toying around with interpreters and the likes but it has no purpose or use. See https://m.reddit.com/r/coding/comments/3akmn1/sums_this_rel_...
fallenshell··on The blockchain is a threat to the distributed future of the Internet
Besides, there's the convenience and ease of use aspect. Most of these federated services are not easy to use for the average newcomer or tech-illiterate user demographic, for example. And sometimes they're inconvenient.
fallenshell··on “Facebook has destroyed the open web”
Excuse my misbehavior, I became angry.
fallenshell··on Coming Soon: New .Blog Domains for Websites
Haha keep trying.
fallenshell··on Coming Soon: New .Blog Domains for Websites
This sounds more like a troll than a tin-foil hat conspiracist. Ignore it.
fallenshell··on Designing a New Look for Instagram, Inspired by the Community
I find OS X to look ages better than iOS. Their colors are softer and the design has far more detail.
fallenshell··on “Facebook has destroyed the open web”
"Against this global community" "Going against progress" Sorry Zuck, but shut the fuck up. All you want is more money and power. A great example is the free "internet" initiative he's pushing; all to lock people in Facebook.

This guy truly is, the world's biggest hypocrite. </rant>
