We build mobile apps for our customers and have more exciting projects on the table than we have bandwidth to do them so we're looking for a whole round of new team members right now.
Our website is jackrabbitmobile.com and we've got a jobs page at http://www.jackrabbitmobile.com/jobs
You can charge that business owner now. Any language will work and there are trade offs for each language.
It's a good looking app. Unfortunately you can't review a product after you use a promo code.
If you are familiar with Parse.com's iOS framework it would be like a PFQueryTableViewController (https://parse.com/tutorials/parse-query-table) except the controller would show the cells in a UICollectionView instead of in a UITableView.
I would love to work on it together with someone. Here's my github https://github.com/davidolesch if you want to connect.
If you are looking for video courses I've done the Lynda.com iOS development course and highly recommend it.

A good place to do that is at an event like 3 Day Startup (http://3daystartup.org). I'm a iOS developer, but one of the 3 co-founder on our 3DS team isn't a developer and our company wouldn't be where it is now without him.
After that success (2 figure revenue!), I built another app and put it on the App Store for $9.99. People are downloading that as well. I admit that I am making more off of contract work, but based on my estimates the App Store converts really well, even at >$5 and has the potential to be profitable with paid apps.
(anecdotal evidence based on my sales of http://free2goapp.com/download)
