Dental offices all over the country have scanners that use regular cameras + photogrammetry to create 3d models of your teeth. They've become pretty widespread with the rise of Invisalign, Smile Direct, and others. These scans can be pretty inexpensive, like a few hundred dollars or less.

Pathi (https://www.pathiapp.org/), which is a free app that connects people who really need someone to talk to with volunteer listeners who want to help.

We are recruiting listeners, and looking for someone to help build an Android version!

I started Pathi, a volunteer-run app/hotline for people who really need someone to talk to. Right now we have 12 volunteer listeners taking about that many calls every day.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pathi/id1466338610

We need volunteer listeners, someone to help us bring the app to android, and some design assistance.

If you’re interested in helping, please reach out! (email in profile)

They should stream it for free, today. Perhaps with a 'pay what you like' button.

I've been working on an application that might help with some of these issues. It allows protesters to communicate anonymously and securely in crowds using adhoc wifi/bluetooth and onion routing. Protest leaders can create a protest and add a password that spreads via word of mouth in the crowd and ideally isn't told to police/security forces. Leaders can designate lieutenants and the chat can be read-only to everyone except them. And it works even if security forces turn cell towers off. The work in progress is here: https://github.com/jackflips/Protest

I need help building an android version and fixing/auditing the current code. If that sounds interesting please get in touch :)

They're sharing frustrations, emotions, connecting. Just because someone is trying to share a feeling doesn't make what they're saying instantly vapid. I thought it was great.

Yes! I thought of Afterschool too. One of my favorite films.

Oh no way.

More people will read it because of the headline. How is that bad?

You really want to know what underwear Drew Houston wears?

A lot of those lessons are within this speech by Amy Poehler, who is an amazing improviser and co-founder of one of the most important improv theatres in the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7N_L_pu74k

ahhhhhhhhhh

Little bit off topic but WTF, while awesome, isn't really a comedy podcast because it isn't funny. If you're looking for something like that check out Comedy Bang Bang or something.

I'm 1 week away from the final in the last semester of SICP at Berkeley. Wish me luck! haha

Isn't there way more deadly and virulent stuff locked up in labs all over the world, like ebola and anthrax and VX? And we don't know what medical discoveries smallpox might yield decades down the road. Let's not destroy anything.

Seriously.. I didn't even realize that was a translation till I finished the first paragraph.

The same thing you get out of answering questions on Quora and editing articles on Wikipedia. We're not expecting instructors to spend anywhere close to 15-20 hours per week, or even expecting them to grade homework.

Thanks for the question, we appreciate the feedback.

No, we just want to make online education better, and part of that is better support for OCW than Youtube comments.

This is dumb. Stop asking us for money and just put some small ads up in the corner. No one will care. Thanks.
