Any education required for engineers to switch to native or the agents are handling the details on their own? Wondering if architecture or the new languages require ramp up.

fnikacevic··on GPT‑Live
Any pricing announced yet?
fnikacevic··on Ferrari Luce
If you look recently Ferrari is already getting killed on SF90 sales which was "just" a hybrid, this costs about as much ($750K out the door with options) and is a pure ev that looks unimpressive. These will not do well.

Every other expensive EV is doing awfully on the resale market, Rimac, Lucid, Taycan, Bautista, etc.

fnikacevic··on Show HN: Sycamore – next gen Rust web UI library using fine-grained reactivity
A great example is the shadcn site

https://ui.shadcn.com/

Shows you how good it looks out of the box on the first page.

fnikacevic··on Cell Service for the Fairly Paranoid
And how do we know it's not another FBI/CIA honeypot?
fnikacevic··on Australia begins enforcing world-first teen social media ban
The data on social media harms is mixed at best. We know for a fact fast food, cosmetic ads for girls, are strictly more harmful.

This is nothing more than speech control under the guise of "won't someone please think of the children"

fnikacevic··on Australia begins enforcing world-first teen social media ban
So are we banning all advertising to children? Or only banning them from communicating and posting with each other?

If it's about monetizing child attention not about speech control why isn't every single toy ad, food ad, movie ad, also banned?

fnikacevic··on Jakarta is now the biggest city in the world
The island of Bali has outsized impact from all the tourism.
fnikacevic··on Wikipedia survives while the rest of the internet breaks
They defamed Dominion so much on their "news" programs that they have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars. Great "news" source.
fnikacevic··on Wikipedia survives while the rest of the internet breaks
Look if you'd rather trust Fox News than Wikipedia feel free. None of those 4 sources are much convincing of your point.
fnikacevic··on Wikipedia survives while the rest of the internet breaks
The only specific example from that nypost article is about Fox News not being allowed as a source. Fox news has been found in court to be guilty of defamation and has argued in court that it cannot be considered news, only entertainment.

So do you want reality or reality TV on Wikipedia? Should we consider Ancient Aliens as a source?

fnikacevic··on Meta invests $14.3B in Scale AI to kick-start superintelligence lab
It's always a warning sign where the only thing I know about a CEO is how many podcasts and media events they do each week, and nothing about their business.
fnikacevic··on US appeals court rules AI generated art cannot be copyrighted
Copyrights are owned by businesses all the time.
fnikacevic··on 'The tyranny of apps': those without smartphones are unfairly penalised
The sad part is sometimes just switching languages/locales on your phone (i.e. changing the language from US English to British English) fixes this as it's all the code checks.
fnikacevic··on Show HN: Mastra – Open-source JS agent framework, by the developers of Gatsby
Do the workflows support voice-to-voice models like openai's realtime? Or if something like that exists I'd be curios.
fnikacevic··on Show HN: Cs16.css – CSS library based on CS 1.6 UI
Just looking at this makes me feel like a noob.

I tried installing CS 1.6 20 years after launch roughly and it was pointless trying to compete.

fnikacevic··on The Rise of the French Fry Cartel
I had subscribed to Jacobin a while back in the hopes of balancing out my Economist subscription's viewpoints but wow the quality was not there.
fnikacevic··on Popeye and Tintin enter the public domain in 2025 along with Faulkner, Hemingway
Disney's lobbying has been matched by tech companies who make money when more content is shared. Some more reading below.

fnikacevic··on Comparing AWS S3 with Cloudflare R2: Price, Performance and User Experience
AWS will also forgive mistakes or negligence based bills, in my case 3 times.
fnikacevic··on Apple's M4 Max chip is the fastest single-core performer in consumer computing
Can't wait until there's an M4 Ultramax too!
fnikacevic··on Reflections on Palantir
Hire internal software folks who can judge the signals better?
fnikacevic··on Deals with the devil aren't what they used to be
I don't know if I'm missing something about the Newyorker but every article I've tried to read loses me in a similar chaos of literary references and excessive thesaurus usage.

I can't tell if I'm illiterate or it's overhyped.

fnikacevic··on AlphaFold 3 predicts the structure and interactions of life's molecules
I can only hope the models will be sophisticated enough and willing to explain their reasoning to us.
fnikacevic··on Mourning Google
The perception of autonomy at Google was somewhat marketing. In reality the company was extremely rigorous and top down. They used the perception to hire the creative genius types they wanted.

Eric Schmidt (Former CEO of Google) discusses it here: https://youtu.be/hcRxFRgNpns?t=2154

fnikacevic··on Figma and Adobe abandon proposed merger
The $20B price was a massive overpay is the most likely reason.
fnikacevic··on They can and will ruin everything you love
If any of the world's small business were offered millions of dollars in secondaries they would secure their families too.
fnikacevic··on How many medical studies are faked or flawed?
Chemistry still has a ton of issues with people exaggerating numbers that can't be contested like yield and purity of reactions even among the top journals. Straight up fraud is rarer yes.
fnikacevic··on Show HN: Colloq – async business decision making
No worries, there are some screenshots and descriptions on the PH post if you wanted to avoid an account altogether. The platform is geared towards businesses who need security by default - hence the required accounts.

If there's anything you had hoped to see though let me know!
