The murder charges were also mentioned during the appeal. IANAL but listening to it sounds like it played a role in denying his appeal.

fru2013··on Amazon to Shut All U.S. Pop-Up Stores as It Rethinks Physical Retail Strategy
I realize it's a controversial topic, but I would welcome a bot that posts outline links to paywalled content.

Usually someone posts a link anyway so it would not make much a difference.

fru2013··on Reddit confirms $300M Series D led by China’s Tencent at $3B value
The amount of censorship on Reddit by moderators for arbitrary reasons, completely defeats the purpose of having community-controlled content.

fru2013··on Facebook will reveal who uploaded your contact info for ad targeting
Same for me with the car dealerships. I've never owned a car or even ever contacted a dealership before. My guess is maybe car rental companies are selling the data to dealerships, since they would be gathering email + phone and car-renters would be targets for car-sellers.

fru2013··on Half of ICOs Die Within Four Months After Token Sales Finalized
>For example, a pattern day trader rule was imposed in February 2001 which required a $25,000 minimum balance to trade on margin.

Technically, Accounts with less than $25k can trade on margin, they just can't make four or more day-trade in a five day period.

fru2013··on Goodbye, Denver Post. Hello, Blockchain
While not completely brain-dead, a blockchain still is not necessary to solve this use case.
fru2013··on Show HN: Cost of a 51% Attack on Popular Cryptocurrencies
Looks great, nice work, keep it up! One small improvement in my opinion would be to make the columns sortable- especially the 1hr attack cost.
fru2013··on MoviePass no longer lets you see the same movie more than once
Perhaps users were sharing their pass with their friends and they're trying to curb this?

I was unaware of that- thanks for the info. I should also add that 5% is only for Prime members. Without a Prime subscription, you will only recieve 3%
fru2013··on Ask HN: What credit card does your US startup use?
If you pay your AWS bill with the Amazon Rewards Visa, the transaction is categorized under Amazon and you'll get 5% rewards (only redeemable on Amazon though)

fru2013··on Microsoft Edge records browsing history in InPrivate mode
This is a thread about a bug in Microsoft Edge- no surprise that the majority of comments are dissing Microsoft.

Just because other companies/products have similar bugs doesn't make this bug or Microsoft any less asinine.

fru2013··on Show HN: Stock recommender system using hedge fund data and machine learning
Nice work! It would be interesting to write a bot that tracks a portfolio based on the recommendations from this to see how it performs against other strategies.
fru2013··on China Restricts Export of Drones, Supercomputers
>The suggestion that they'd be banning the export of Intel processors is dumb.

Why is this a dumb suggestion? The article does not specify, nor does the PR release by china.
