furytrader··on Kalshi and its co-founders face felony charges for violating Utah gambling laws
You need to take a course in basic business.
furytrader··on US Reps Lead Democratic Resolution Opposing A.I. Bubble Bailout for Big Tech
Institutional investors, including retirement funds, university endowments, etc. invest in private companies, either directly or via private equity. I believe Harvard's endowment, for example, has a significant portion of its portfolio in non-public companies.
furytrader··on US Reps Lead Democratic Resolution Opposing A.I. Bubble Bailout for Big Tech
Right before the Midterm elections, to show that they are "trying to do something".
furytrader··on OpenAI, the Partition Principle, and Mathematics
> "why you should be very angry at OpenAI"

Please don't tell me how I should feel. Stick with the facts.

furytrader··on Unknown number of Texas voter registrations went unprocessed due to DPS error
"The only weapon we the people have against these tactics is regulation"

That's not true. If it's a company doing it, you have the choice to not be a customer of the company. Don't give them any of your money if you don't like how they do business.

The same can't be said of government. If you don't give your money, in the form of taxes, you go to jail.

furytrader··on The darker side of being a doctor
But it doesn't solve the problem. Does it sound like the nationalized healthcare in Australia is going well? How about Canada? The NHS in Great Britain?

Why would it be any different here?

furytrader··on The darker side of being a doctor
Er, do you mean miles? Like they use in Great Britain?
furytrader··on Bill to Ban Private Equity from Owning Medical Practices
"We’ve allowed Amazon and Ticketmaster and Walmart to exist and they shouldn’t exist in their present form."

Do you realize that when Walmart moves into a community, prices charged for everyday things overall drop significantly, both at Walmart and their competition, which means that poor families are able to buy more with every dollar.

What do you have against poor people?

furytrader··on Mars Bar from 1991 found – and it's 20g bigger than today's
Breakfast cereal boxes have gotten so small, it's ridiculous. They might as well label the package "Fun Size" since it's clearly not "Full Size".
furytrader··on Citadel Buys Situational Awareness's Stock Portfolio After Big Losses in AI
The irony is that the WSJ had profiled Situational Awareness with a glowing story just 1-2 months ago. It reminds me of my old adage: "You don't want to read about your positions in a newspaper" - it paints a large target on your back.
furytrader··on A 77-year-old Republican man is staging a solo protest against Flock cameras
You don't seem to realize that a cornerstone of American conservatism is limited government and the promotion of human freedom. His antipathy towards unnecessary state surveillance of individuals who have committed no wrongs seems entirely appropriate for a Republican.
furytrader··on No President Has Embarrassed This Country the Way Trump Did Last Night
Surely, an unbiased news source, right?
furytrader··on Costco is the anti-Amazon
I find the experience of shopping at Costco very uncomfortable. The parking lots are jammed packed, everyone is darting around with large shopping carts, the lines for the cashier are long, sales people are trying to pitch me on travel deals as I walk by - it almost feels like going through a busy airport. I am a Costco member, but I only go to the store when I really need to. The fact that I can shop Costco via Instacart was a gamechanger for me.
furytrader··on Harvard Museums Releases Online Catalogue of 32,000 Bauhaus Works
I don't see "Bela Lugosi's Dead" anywhere ...
furytrader··on Why Do We Admire Mobsters?
By influential interest groups, do you mean Social Security, Welfare, Medicare and Medicaid? Because that's roughly 60% of Federal spending.
