Any good pointers on the specifics on how one would do this themselves with axolot? Did you find that the documentation was adequate?

I read this as cockblock.js and was expecting something more amusing.

Super neat but I can't think of a scenario where I would need it. What was the reason you built this for?
g2e··on Best online HTML editor?
I suggest codeacademy if all he wants to do is learn some HTML/CSS. He can try stuff out on JSFiddle.net by editing he HTML and CSS textboxes.

g2e··on How to Learn JavaScript Properly
It seems like everybody starts out, just like I did, with "The Good Parts" only to realize that the book is much too abstract for practical purposes. With that said, there IS a reason as to why the book is so highly rated. It might not help you directly write your first JS application but it prepare the reader produce what the world really needs - good code.
g2e··on When Years Have Passed, Will You Remember Today? [video]
Honestly, I'm not a fan of the whole thing. Why would I want to remember every single day? I'd much rather spend the time required to compose these 1 second bits on building up and moving towards a much more significant moment.

g2e··on How I Made a 26-Hour Day
A few things are important in my opinion regarding productivity:

1) Minimal lying in bed. If you're in your bed, you should be sleeping. If you can't fall asleep find out why and fix it.

2) Don't get distracted. Of course, easier said than done but you can definitely minimize any possibilites.

3) Experimentation with sleep. Try sleeping a little bit less and less until you find the minimal amount required for you to be refreshed.

4) Continuously reflect and ask yourself if there's a better or more efficient way of doing something.

g2e··on How I Made a 26-Hour Day
I'm guessing any circadian rhythms would adjust with your new waking up/exercise schedule making it no different to your body to exercise that early.
g2e··on I’m Bored. What’s Next?
Ha! Easier said than done! Of course, everybody wants something new.
g2e··on Show HN: Amuzor, a new content curator we've been building
Awesome! I like the dark colours but I think it would be wiser to have a much lighter theme as a default.
g2e··on 2013 Resolutions: a man page a day makes the newb go away
Instead of man pages, I'm doing it with books. Goodreads.com makes it pretty easy (and fun) to manage everything. My goal is to get through all the classics this year and of course, like you said, apply that knowledge to my everyday programming.
g2e··on Silicon Valley is wrong about college
Depends on the flavour of the mathematics being taught. If it's a computational calculus course where all you do is memorize integration patterns so you can integrate a boatload of functions, then it's not very beneficial. However if it's a logic course, where you learn how to prove theorems and understand what a proof really is, it would help you in any field. As long as the course doesn't train you to become a computer than I believe it's beneficial to one's education.
g2e··on Silicon Valley is wrong about college
As a current college sophomore, I agree, education is important. However, I strongly believe that a degree does not define a person as educated. As long as you continuously have a general thirst for knowledge and act on it, you'll build your way to becoming an educated individual.

g2e··on Dropbox + git

g2e··on Why I don't have a Facebook account
This is absurd. First of all, at least from personal experience, women DO NOT post status updates about their menstrual cycle. People don't want to paint themselves on Facebook as annoying, immature children.

Second of all, why am I the only person here that trusts Zuckerberg and the goal he plans to accomplish with Facebook?

Let them data mine my account! Learn everything you want to know about me and the interactions I have with my friends! So what? What difference does that make to my life?

And lastly, I really doubt FB is having or going to have money problems anytime soon. If they do they'll probably just 1-up advertising.
