gitdude··on Announcing new tools, forums, and features
Here is a list of features we shipped in the last 12 months: https://blog.bitbucket.org/2016/09/07/bitbucket-cloud-5-mill...
gitdude··on Moving to GitLab: Yes, it's worth it
Can you give any specific feedback about Bitbucket Server? What can we do better?
gitdude··on Moving to GitLab: Yes, it's worth it
We recently launched pipelines, it is in beta right now: https://bitbucket.org/product/features/pipelines

gitdude··on [dead]
Ongoing network issues are continuing to significantly degrade the performance and stability of bitbucket.org. Our operations, networking and onsite engineers are working tirelessly to resolve the incident.

Please follow http://status.bitbucket.org/ for the latest information. We will also be updating support tickets as we get information.

gitdude··on How Google's new Logo is just 305 bytes
Real reason for the redesign. Works for every screen. Loads fast. Aesthetic component is important but not so important. This is a real marriage of art and science for logos.
gitdude··on Major SSH outage at BitBucket
This is the current update from the BB team: "We have resolved the current issues with the platform. Our workers are slowly working through a fairly large backlog of requests that have been pending since the issues originally started. Things are continuing to stabilize, but will take another hour or 2 before things are back to normal and your requests are fully processed."
gitdude··on GitLab raises 1.5M
I am part of the Bitbucket team. Would love to hear what made you switch from Bitbucket?
gitdude··on Ellen Pao Loses Silicon Valley Bias Case Against Kleiner Perkins
I find it very interesting that the african american woman and the hispanic man in the jury - both minorities voted "yes" while the predominantly white and asian jurors voted "no". Is it possible that people who are discriminated against understand the subtle biases which cannot be captured by evidence or law.
gitdude··on Gigaom Closes Down
The long-term solution is to form a consortium of online media and charge a monthly subscription fee of $9.99/month or so. (Tech media comes together: techcrunch, venturebeat, recode, etc.) Having individual paywalls will not incentivize readers to pay an annual subscription fee. And then the revenue can be split between various media outlets.
gitdude··on Microsoft Is the New Google, Google Is the Old Microsoft
This is complete crap! Look at the pipeline of awesome products - Inbox by Google, self-driving car, Project Loon, etc. etc. As long as Larry is on the helm, Google will never be Microsoft. Yes, Microsoft is becoming better under Nadella but is nowhere near Google
gitdude··on Will WhatsApp kill Slack?
love to understand why slack is better - is it primarily because of integrations? or is it something more?
gitdude··on Ask HN: What's left for early startup engineers as the company grows?
Let me tell you the blatant truth which no founder will tell you: You are just a worker bee for them. They will do whatever it takes for the startup to be successful. So even if you gave your blood and sweat, and single-handedly built the product in the last 2 years, if they think (I should underline they think) that a vp of engineering will do a better job than you - then they will go out, hire that person and probably give them more equity than you.

You should think about what's best for you next. If you think you are not going anywhere, you should cash out and leave.

gitdude··on Docker Image Insecurity
Professional Advice for shykes: Do some background research + internal prep before answering/commenting here on HN. You represent the Docker brand and over time such hastiness will erode Docker's credibility. Best to be silent than defend every incredulous comment about Docker on HN.
