gopaz··on Helm 4.0
Holos[1] is an interesting project I’ve been looking at trying out.

gopaz··on Show HN: Quake 1 ported to the Apple Watch
Any testflight link?
gopaz··on Serving Netflix Video Traffic at 800Gb/s and Beyond [pdf]
What about the storage? Is it using Raid? Does blocksize matter? What filsystem is used?
gopaz··on Resumes are dangerous?
I also look for github links, especially for sysadmins, it can give an insight of how they solve things. Bonus points for pull requests.

However, if the person doesn't have a profile, or an inactive one, I don't put any weight on it, it's more an alternative way instead of asking interview questions for me.

gopaz··on Uyuni – open-source release of SUSE Manager
It sure is! go with train and buy the first class ticket :)
gopaz··on I built a receipt printer for GitHub issues
Fujitsu fp-2200 can print 400mm/s, it's quite mind boggling how fast the paper comes out :)

Also if you hold feed while power on you get a interactive menu, printed on paper. Probably works on Epson printers also

gopaz··on M1 Ultra Geekbench Score
If it's real it does make sense, same single core score and double multicore compared to m1 max
gopaz··on LibreOffice 7.3 supports Klingon language
What default settings are missing in your opinion?
gopaz··on EU plans to force OEMs to use a common charger for all phones
> EU iPhones come with an adapter.

Source? Since 2009 I probably had 8 iPhones or so, never seen or heard about any adapter

gopaz··on Bye CUPS: Printing with Netcat
Wait until he finds out about /dev/tcp :)

It actually blew my mind after doing Linux for 10 years. "Everything is a file" isn't a lie.

gopaz··on OpenSUSE Leap 15.3
For anyone into packaging and building software I can really recommend SUSEs open build service, https://openbuildservice.org

It's really powerful.

Checkout what opensuse is currently building here; https://build.opensuse.org/monitor

gopaz··on OpenSUSE Leap 15.3
If you package software you for sure can get tired of it :)

But I would never switch to Deb, that's just a pain.

gopaz··on Ex-Netflix VP found guilty of awarding tech contracts in exchange for bribes
Had the same suspicion when the order to install Splunk everywhere came from above. We already had central logging for years... No reason was given. Just. Do. It.
gopaz··on In Stockholm there's currently an IT battle underway
Not really sure what this platform contains, a backend, a site and an app?

It sounds like if I would get 1% of the price to build this, I would laugh all the way to the bank.

gopaz··on Building an E-Ink Laptop
Did you record the difference in battery life before/after the eink monitor?
gopaz··on Show HN: Rysolv – Fix open source issues, get paid
Wants a bit mucky much permissions from GitHub;

gopaz··on Huawei Tops Intel as Top Linux Kernel Contributor for 5.10
There is a rumor here that Huawei approaches key personal of competitors and offers to match the salary + 12000usd/month (which alone is probably more than 90% make)
gopaz··on Britney Spears' Guide to Semiconductor Physics (2007)
Dolph Lundgren (actor):

gopaz··on Ask HN: I'm a software engineer going blind, how should I prepare?
I would love to read more about this in your blog! Sway is my daily driver and I love it!
gopaz··on Keycloak: Open-source identity and access management
Can someone recommend a product (open source) that supports: * ldap * multiple password hashes per person, or some other way to keep different hash-functions of the password ( ldap supports this) * saml/shibboleth or openid connect (preferably both) * export all users and password hashes (I guess ldap supports this natively)

Want to replace a legacy openldap installation with something more modern and future proof, but need to keep supporting a couple of old systems that won't go away for a long time.

gopaz··on En svensk tiger
Also denied the Norwegian king entrance when fleeing Norway (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haakon_VII_of_Norway)

The Red Cross busses also transported prisoners in exchange for the Scandinian ones. Iirc the Swedish government also send a letter stating to rescue the Jews last. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Buses)

Strategic, rather than neutral I would call it.

gopaz··on Teleport 4.2 – Enhanced Session Recording, Workflows, and GCP
Teleport often pops up in my search for replacing a home built rbac system that powers 30k machines. Must say it rings some warning bells when there no price info available, not sure I would even want to know.
gopaz··on Configuring Ansible
Also interested in this, we have a fairly large setup and always interesting to see how others use it.

Especially around Vault, it never really clicked for me, I fail to see how it helps most of the times, if a user can trigger X that will generate a key on the fly, what prevents a hacker from doing the same, etc...

gopaz··on ProtonMail iOS app goes open source
Can someone break down what makes up the 91MB this app weights in at? Since its 94% swift I'm a bit surprised
