Where did you find an acupressure mat for $5? The cheapest I’m seeing on online is $20.
greedylizard··on Gemini Robotics
I can’t help but think that’s the real reasons he wants five billets from every federal worker every week. Free, hot, and fresh data!
greedylizard··on Buy European Made. Support European Values
The electoral college rigs the game. If one person equaled one vote, American government could look significantly different right now.
greedylizard··on What were the best books you read this year?
I’m Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom - Jason Pargin. It’s about what happens when individually radicalized people collide.
greedylizard··on What were the best books you read this year?
Great series. I still think about Archimedes often.
greedylizard··on I tried every top email marketing tool
This is very relevant to my industry (escape rooms). Our mailing lists quickly reach 10,000+ and unsubscribes happen often.

I was so focused on deliverability with Mailchimp that I didn’t realize (until I just checked) that I’ve been paying for 2,000 unsubscribers. I had assumed I wasn’t. Deleting them would have moved me down a tier. Strongly considering MailerLite now.

greedylizard··on The mystery of why left-handers are so much rarer (2016)
As a child I solved this problem by rotating my paper 90° to the right and writing “down”. Still do it til this day.

Although it gets awkward when someone wants to hold the paper for me while I sign. I have to gently tug it away from them so I can turn it.

greedylizard··on An e-waste dumping ground
> go there and try to invest in ways to clean up the practice.

You think the problem that needs to be solved is “there”? This sentence makes me question whose consumption you’re referring to in the previous sentence.

greedylizard··on Hezbollah hand-held radios detonate across Lebanon, sources say
I wasn’t aware those terrorists organizations had exploded devices in public spaces. Please share your source.
greedylizard··on Autonomous F-16 Fighters Are 'Roughly Even' with Human Pilots
Do you mean OODA loop? Observe Orient Decide Act?
greedylizard··on Surveilling Alone
True, but it seemed that OP was implying that he wasn’t sure he knew where every camera was. He clearly seemed to be concerned that there was a hidden camera in the clock. What do you suggest for that situation?
greedylizard··on Surveilling Alone
That’s a scary situation. I wonder how could someone maintain access to cameras without your WiFi login information? Maybe if the DVRs have cellular access, but I haven’t heard of those before. What an interesting problem. You mentioned your kids, but do you think you’ll ever feel like you’re not being watched?
greedylizard··on X/Twitter has updated its terms of service to let it use posts for AI training
I approve.
greedylizard··on Broken Ownership
Thanks. I figure I’ll get around to watching it next year. Although your description sounds a lot like his role in Ozark too.
greedylizard··on Broken Ownership
Can you clue me in on the Jason Bateman reference?
greedylizard··on Police are getting DNA data from people who think they opted out
Why is this being downvoted? Is it not true? From what I’ve seen, this comment is accurate. Genuinely asking…
greedylizard··on Replacing my best friends with an LLM trained on 500k group chat messages
I recommended this series to my friend after he finished reading The Expanse. I never thought to describe it as sci-fi comedy. Have you found any other good sci-fi comedy series?
greedylizard··on On Malignant Escapism
As an escape room designer, I’m not sure I’ve seen malignant escapism in my industry. However, maybe it’s there among the players who have played 400 or even 500+ escape rooms. I like to think of my games and developmental escapism. At least while you’re getting away from real problems, you’re able to build up some soft skills that can actually benefit you in the real world.

greedylizard··on The Capitalist Road to Serfdom
Fair point, but it hasn’t even been an hour yet - on a Sunday morning.
greedylizard··on Turkey earthquake opened 190-mile-long fissure
Was about to post exactly that. Such strange phrasing.
greedylizard··on Ask HN: Are headlights getting brighter or am I getting old?
I had the same observation. I just chalked it up to more cars having LED headlights and sitting higher on the road, therefore shining their light right into me eyes or my rear view mirror.
