griffiths··on GitLab Security Incident: Attempted Exploitation of CVE-2026-97229
Can you give more information on "illegal for most European companies" part? Asking for a EU company using Jira :)
griffiths··on There is more to code review than (automatable) detection
Do you use some "framework" specifically or (custom) skills, or is it just plain prompt to review the code?
griffiths··on Ask HN: Can we please limit the AI news flood?
It would be cool if one could visualise (graph wise) the number of posts around different hypes (eg. crypto, not sure what else was prominent like AI) throughout the history of HN.
griffiths··on Anthropic appears to be A/B testing reduced effort levels in Claude Code
You have that in Chinese models. But you need to have a hell of a infrastructure to run those trillion parameter models.
griffiths··on DeepSeek-v4-flash-vision-exp
This is something I would like to know as well.

But if not, does anybody know a recommended way to attach vision to deepseek flash (on a self-hosted infrastructure)?

griffiths··on Eight Myths on Software Engineering and GenAI
I agree with a commenter above/below (depending where this comment lands). For some time models won't do this. And any review from review agents would caught this. For most of the AI programming there needs to be a more stricter (automated) review process now. Most SAST tools would caught this type of security issue.

I can attest to the other side as well, that I have seen professional software developers outputting code of lower quality than AI. And I would say that during my career (18 or so years) I have met a small number of quality software developers or engineers. Although that might be because I was not in Silicon Valley where most of the smart/hotshot engineers converge.
griffiths··on Eight Myths on Software Engineering and GenAI
You will have artisans or software SWAT teams on one side and code factories on the other. For most problems code factories will be good enough.
griffiths··on Eight Myths on Software Engineering and GenAI
How often do you talk about low code details in the meetings? It is mostly about requirements and goals (IMHO) and "architecture"/design, and now I wouldn't even bother my peers with questions about the code as I can let AI tell me how things work exactly as written in the code, not some thing that someone remembers or thinks how it works (in large codebases, most developers only know in detail the things they are working on currently or from recent history)

In my experience, not everyone can really do this stuff by typing. I think you need to be creative, resourceful, inventive, open minded and have ideas how to approach the typing/prompting. I see many people struggle in using AI.
griffiths··on Ask HN: How do you get into a flow state when using AI to code?
How does that work if you depend on the output of the first prompt?

griffiths··on OpenCode – Open source AI coding agent
They had that?! I saw that some people wrote skills and plugins to call claude cli and gemini cli to still be able to use the subscription. I would also wish that this was supported out of the box, something similar to goose cli providers or acp providers (https://block.github.io/goose/docs/guides/acp-providers). But I don't want to spend testing yet another agent harness or change the workflow when I somewhat got used to one way of working on things (the churn is real).
griffiths··on .NET 10
As others have mentioned Vault, Keycloak, Flink are language agnostic. Regarding the switch from Java to .NET, I would rather recommend switching to Kotlin instead of .NET for a developer experience similar to C#, while still keeping your existing expertise in Java and its ecosystem. And this comes from someone in a .NET shop currently, but have worked with Java before. IMHO both languages and surrounding ecosystems are good. Both have their pros and cons and quirks.
griffiths··on Claude Code 2.0
Have you tried Aider-desk? (https://github.com/hotovo/aider-desk)

I haven’t fully tested it yet, but I found it because its supports JetBrains IDE integration. It has MCPs as well.

griffiths··on AI coding made me faster, but I can't code to music anymore
Mine is more of a long term memory loss. Inability to recall some memorable events from months or even a year ago. I’ll definitely check or go talk with someone.
griffiths··on AI coding made me faster, but I can't code to music anymore
What kind of massive memory problems? I might have this but didn't think to attribute it to burnout.
griffiths··on How I Program with Agents
Unless the underlying AI agent models continue to improve over time. Isn’t that the mantra of all AI CEOs, that we are simply riding the wave of technological progress.
griffiths··on InventWood is about to mass-produce wood that's stronger than steel
or ships, specifically sailboats? I would like to know if this would be a more viable material than what is currently used.
griffiths··on Credit card debt collection
What you are talking about is a Charge card, but in Europe you can get a Revolving credit[1] card as well but I would say they are not as common as in US.

On the Charge "credit" card you don't pay interest unless you go into overdraft at the end of the payment day for the month.

With the revolving credit you pay the balance on your own terms but you pay the interest rate for it until closed.

Aren't we there yet? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatsune_Miku

I saw somewhere that this "girl" fills concerts.

griffiths··on Supertokens: Open-Source Alternative to Auth0 / Firebase Auth / AWS Cognito
And when you include Keyclokify[1] the UI customisability is a breez. This comparison really isn't giving the full picture and capability of Keycloak.

griffiths··on EU countries approve 2035 phaseout of CO2-emitting cars
They need to phase out the motorcycles also. Where I live those are the worst.
griffiths··on .NET 6 Released
The official resources and documentation are pretty good.

griffiths··on Google outage – resolved
Just a few moments ago, I wrote in my company's group chat this is the time when we buy NAS. We have a lot of documents not accessible right now in Google Drive.
griffiths··on Google outage – resolved
What do you think, how much money are they losing right now every second?
griffiths··on Openproject: Open-source project management software
We use https://www.taiga.io/

You can combine Kanban with scrum if needed.

Edit: and here is the link (https://tree.taiga.io/support/) that gives more information about taiga. It is not apparent from their website that you can host it yourself for free.

griffiths··on A tale of webpage speed, or throwing away React
And the author of the library has great knowledge in this domain. The latest release has the new SSR features added (https://github.com/ryansolid/solid/issues/109#issuecomment-6...).

I would also recommend to anyone to read his blogs about different approaches to client side rendering, and the technology behind Solid. It is a really good read regardless of the choice of using the library.

griffiths··on JFrog S-1
How is it compared to Sonatype Nexus?
griffiths··on Game Programming Patterns: Event Queue (2014)
Are you using https://github.com/disruptor-net/Disruptor-net library port or something else?
