gyosko··on LLMs are making formal software verification feasible at a much larger scale
Feel you bro, same age, same feelings. And even though AI won't replace me, the work is shit now. I like to code, not to babysit some retarded genius.
gyosko··on The 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement is no longer viable
I would build some thousands of datacenters and ask AI how can we solve this problem, I'm sure this will fix the problem.
gyosko··on The gap in shared understanding of LLM capability is widening
You either die a hero..
gyosko··on The gap in shared understanding of LLM capability is widening
AI will give us freedom! 3 day work week! 0 day work week! We'll all be fucking rich!! Said by the person who doesn't let his drivers stop a couple of minutes when they need to go to the toilet..
gyosko··on GPT‑6 and Intelligent UI for everyone
Don't think, there's chatgpt for that! Don't know who to vote? Ask chatgpt my friend..
gyosko··on “Math 2.0” will need to value mathematical progress more holistically
Totally agree. They are doing in it ONLY because they think it's the best way to be more valuable. They don't give a F about anything else.
gyosko··on Microsoft exec called AI scraping 'the largest theft of labor in human history'
And here we are, just watching and doing nothing..
gyosko··on GPT-5.6
I feel like this: "working" with AI is fucking depressing.
gyosko··on Building a real-time AI tutor for 5-year-olds
We're so fucking doomed.
gyosko··on Godot will no longer accept AI-authored code contributions
FUCK AI. I'm tired of all the AI related bullshit we are living through.
gyosko··on The founder's playbook: Building an AI-native startup
I'm tired boss.
gyosko··on He asked AI to count carbs 27000 times. It couldn't give the same answer twice
I always love AI discussion. Using AI like they fucking sell it to us? You're doing it wrong!!LLMs can't do that!!

No shit sherlock, but the AI gurus are just telling people that this fucking parrot CAN DO EVERY FUCKING THING.

Why wouldn't an ordinary guy just ask these question to an AI when everybody is telling him that AI is intelligent enough to answer accurately?

gyosko··on We haven't seen the worst of what gambling and prediction markets will do
> Betting on sport is kind of what sports where made for.

What?! Beg I your pardon, but I think sport is a very different thing to me.

gyosko··on Just the Browser
If you go through the manual steps on mac os, the file gets deleted when Firefox is updated.

Is there a way to persist the file even after updates?

gyosko··on Gemini in Chrome
Damn, the future is more and more distopic every day.
gyosko··on AI coding made me faster, but I can't code to music anymore
Yeah, if not only for the small fact that you are leaving a well defined set of rules for pure chaos and randomness this time around.
gyosko··on AI coding made me faster, but I can't code to music anymore
I really don't get it.

While letting the AI write some code can be cool and fascinating, I really can't undersand how:

- write the prompt(and you need do be precise and think and express carefully what you have in mind)

- check/try the code

- repeat

is better than writing the code by myself. AI coding like this feels like a nightmare to me and it's 100x more exhausting.

gyosko··on Claude for Financial Services
Vibe investing is coming and it's going to make a lot of people poor.
gyosko··on LLM Inevitabilism
I don't know if "AI" will be able to do 100%, or even 90%, of my job in the next year(s). But I do know what I can see now: "AI" is making more bad than good.

Billions of dollars litterally burned in weird acquisitions and power, huge power consumptions and, the worst one maybe: the enshittification.

Is it really this what we want? Or it's what investors want?

gyosko··on What Excessive Screen Time Does to the Adult Brain
8 hours in front of a screen while working is not the same as 8 hours doomscrolling content, at least that's my guess.
gyosko··on What excessive screen time does to the adult brain
What about a nice book?
gyosko··on Want to spot a deepfake? Look for the stars in their eyes
It seems that even discussion about AI is getting really polarized like everything else these days.

Comments are always one of these two types:

1 -> AI is awesome and perfect, if it isn't, another AI will make it perfect 2 -> AI is just garbage and will always be garbage

gyosko··on Show HN: Bigcapital - An open-source alternative to QuickBooks
Is there anything open source like this, but for personal finance?
gyosko··on Apollo backend source code has been published
Reddit announced new pricing for their API. The Apollo(an ios app) developer said that with the new pricing he couldn't make it affordable to keep the Apollo app running and it started messaging with reddit to see if they were open to make some changes.

They were not and they made a lot of false statements about the Apollo developer. To show that those statements are false the Apollo developer is showing a lot of proofs, one of those proofs is this code.

gyosko··on Show HN: Free 30-year financial statements visualization
Very nice! Where did you pull your data from? Are there any good financial api/datasets out there available for financial data?
gyosko··on Italy’s main University in Milan just banned teaching Dostoevsky
This is partially true.

Yes, Bicocca University DID cancel a 4 lesson course about Dostoevskij, but after the professor went viral on social media they made up their minds and confirmed the course.

Yes, it was a very nonsense decision but they DID NOT banned teaching Dostoevskij in the end.

gyosko··on Esbuild – An extremely fast JavaScript bundler

gyosko··on Poll: Switching from WhatsApp
The problem is not finding a nice alternative.

The problem is that everybody's contacts are on Whatsapp. How do you make THEM switch?
