hough··on I got a scholarship to Flatiron, should I go?
I understand that it comes down to my opinion. I'm merely interested in the what professionals think of the school and the quality of the alumni.

I do feel like I am learning something, and I enjoy it. But I have no way of telling if what I'm learning is what I should be learning according to what is needed today and into the future.

Thanks for your help they are good questions I should ask myself.

hough··on Meeting with a mentor tomorrow. What to ask?
I went to an event where you get advice from successful people in certain areas. The event wasn't that great, but it lead somewhere.

My advice for others would be to go to events that might scare you, or that you have never done before. It pays off. Getting out and about every so often is good.

hough··on Meeting with a mentor tomorrow. What to ask?
No he didn't tell me. I spoke to him very shortly in person before he asked me to meet him later.

I have since gone to the meeting and will answer these questions from my current perspective now that I have gone.

Basically, he liked my idea and wants to help me with it. Considering, he is a pretty successful tech founder, I would say that I can get a lot out of it. He helped me with the business strategy and coding. Unfortunately, I don't know what to expect from these situations since I've never done it before. So I'm not much help and have no idea what he's getting out of it.

This isn't in Silicon Valley by the way. The guy is from Silicon Valley.

The thing is, I didn't ask to meet with him.

That is still helpful though. Thanks.

I read that when I Googled questions earlier :).

I'm not sure how it would work though? I feel like I can't do anything to help. Maybe that's the point of asking the question though...

Thanks! I'll add that to the list.
hough··on Tell me what your company does
I think a pretty good example of how to describe what you do on your site is http://verily.com (owned by Alphabet/Google).

'We create tools that put health data into action' hits you right in the face when you visit the page. Then you scroll down and see good descriptions of their products.

As someone who visited their site after looking through similar sites filled with marketing crap, I found it a relief to see something so simple. Use this as a startup website template instead!

In Chrome you can also allow it to save your tabs so when you restart Chrome they are still there. I've tried Pocket a number of times and I go back to doing this every time.

With Pocket I found myself saving pages and never going back to them.

Perhaps, elaborating on the idea, you could create something like pocket that encourages you to read the things you've saved in a certain timeframe and cleans them if you don't?
