humpt··on Show HN: Tagging all GitHub repos
...and the idea is actually awesome! (sorry i'm not sandwich approach-ing you, I just forgot to mention it :)
humpt··on Show HN: Tagging all GitHub repos
when I click the [Rails] tag, oh-my-zsh appears as first in the list. I realize it has a rails plugin but I'm not sure it's one of the most relevant rails projects.

I think there should be some kind of "sort by relevance" feature.

humpt··on Ask HN: How do you manage/organize information and knowledge in your life?
I use google docs. I have a bunch of google documents i regularly use for work

- one where I keep track of my work: it's half a todo list with bullet points, half notes about my progress for meetings - one where i write ideas, things I want to dig into later

I write in them from bottom to top (so that my last entry is always on top). I basically use them as paper notebooks.

Actually if it wasn't for URL copy pasting, I think i'd use paper and pen.

humpt··on UI Performance Decline – OS X Tiger to Yosemite [video]
it's a desktop environment, it can be part of any distro you want, especially when an upgrade hits the decimals
humpt··on UI Performance Decline – OS X Tiger to Yosemite [video]
not only it's unlikely, it's true. I've changed distro many times over the years and always noticed the poor power management
humpt··on Deal forcing Microsoft to offer browser choices ends
I remember seeing this on TV and not understanding why microsoft was threatened with a fine if they ship IE by default on their products.

Actually I still don't. Nobody ever stopped me from downloading another browser on windows, anyone who wants to do it will do it. So people did have a choice, they just didn't know they had it, and it's their problem, not microsoft's!

Could someone explain this to me?

humpt··on A redesign of the Django websites
> whitespace wastage

there is no such thing. Think more whitespace equals more focus around the content and less clutter.

humpt··on A redesign of the Django websites
a bit offtopic but why is you username highlighted in green?
humpt··on IBM Design Language
I couldn't find the folder icons. Could you post the link to it please?
humpt··on Ask HN: What book changed your life in 2014?
I've always been overweight, and struggled with it. I was unhealthy physically and I think it made me unhealthy mentally in some ways as well. I've always been the geek kind of guy, wasn't much into sports and had no idea how to take care of my own body. And this book made it all clear to me.
humpt··on IBM Design Language
uglier? to me bootstrap's visual patterns are overused and frankly unoriginal.
humpt··on Ask HN: What book changed your life in 2014?
The 4-hour-body changed my life. It changed how I look, how I eat, my health, my self esteem/confidence, my mood. I am a completely different person now.
humpt··on New social music app to find friends, find music
isn't that what spotify and deezer already do?
humpt··on Front-end Development Guidelines (by TMW)
> For all languages, indent your code with tabs. The default tab size should be set as 4.

^^"

humpt··on Ask HN: Hacker News like websites in other languages?
I don't think techies mind english, and it sure is the only way to get information faster to more people.
humpt··on Show HN: Opp.io – Meeting Minutes Made Useful
The product is sure awesome, but since you're discussing the design of the homepage, I think the typography might need some more work. And if you look on [this page](http://www.opp.io/About), the color palette as well :/
humpt··on The codepen/jsfiddle that connects to Google Drive
that's weird. I'm using chrome on debian and haven't encountered any issue.
humpt··on Show HN: Tinman – the shiniest blog engine in Oz
lol, no I meant another static site generator? isn't there enough of them? I read a little through the README.md I don't see much that hexo.io or wintersmith.io can't do.

Can you state what you meant to change in regard of the existing generators?

humpt··on Show HN: Tinman – the shiniest blog engine in Oz
lol, again?
humpt··on Ask HN: What ISP do you use, and what do you recommend?
that reeeeaally depends on the area you live in. You'll probably not get the answer you want if you're not more specific.
humpt··on [dead]
male obviously, the alpha kind. Haven't you ever git-checkedout that big master branch, always git-pushing and git-pulling. Or maybe it has never git-shown it to you. Also straight: it likes pussy cause git-cat-phile, or is it git-cat-file? HAHAHA, are you git-init?
humpt··on BitTorrent Bleep – P2P messaging solution from BitTorrent
I love BT Sync! The current client is not so bad, it's easy to use. I like how it's easy to port your config from one computer to the other with dumb text file. I'm just curious, what do you think is missing in it?
humpt··on I'm 28 and frustrated – can I still have programming career?
> the top of the programmer food chain

I'm not sure what that means :) can you explain or give examples?

humpt··on Eloquent JavaScript, Second Edition
Thanks! I had no idea something like asciidoc existed. It seems to be a fair balance between markdown and tex
humpt··on Eloquent JavaScript, Second Edition
this is theses other forks which can be nicer on mobile: - html: http://sarabander.github.io/sicp/ - epub/pdf in the repo: https://github.com/sarabander/sicp
humpt··on Eloquent JavaScript, Second Edition
This is a bit off topic but does someone know how this book is generated, which tools are used?
humpt··on Eloquent JavaScript, Second Edition
When I started this about 8 years ago or so, i used [this book](http://www.headfirstlabs.com/books/hfhtml/). It's structured as a case study, a coffee shop owner who wants to make a small webpage.

It's amazing how it's well written and fun to read. I like it puts some effort in showing you quickly the benefit of what you learned, you never get the impression something is pointless. (NB: it's big but you don't have to read it all. I read say the first half, than used it more like a reference book.)

humpt··on [dead]
urgh... pixels ? The color palette is kindda violent too.
humpt··on Ask HN: How can I sustainably run a website without charging a fee?
Have you considered using a [kimsufi](http://www.kimsufi.com/uk/). It's basically a cheap dedicated server. You can get a decent configuration for a less than $10/month.

You will need to admin it yourself but this depends more on the size of your website, I don't think you should worry about it so early, especially given the fact that you're not sure if you website is actually going to take off.
