hydropax··on Show HN: Maths.free – Learn all of maths, in order
Nice idea--I could've used this back in school. Couple of suggestions:

1. Consider adding Next and Previous buttons, so help the user navigate a fixed path to study a topic. 2. Consider adding a left pane with a nested tree of topics/lessons showing where you're at. That would give a sense of progress as the user move forward in a topic, and it'd also let the user easily skip out of order to another topic/lesson.

hydropax··on How My Students Think About AI
As a parent of Gen Z kids, this tracks closely with my experience. AI advances that blow me away are ho-hum for them. Not coincidentally, their own AI use remains largely limited to chatbots, and despite my amazement at what's possible these days, they have little interest in expanding beyond chatbot use.
hydropax··on Ask HN: What are your biggest problems and fixes with multisession engineering?
With grok bot, I've just been giving it a time to stop working; otherwise, it's likely to burn through my entire week's usage in an afternoon.

If I want to run multiple sessions in parallel in claude code and codex, I use multiple worktrees, and I select tasks for each tree that are unlikely to have merge conflicts.

hydropax··on Apple caught off guard by AI demand for Mac Mini and Mac Studio
I would think it's the opposite: there's increasing chatter about how long the AI labs will subsidize cheap subscriptions. I suspect that at some point one of them will bump up prices, and the rest will follow. That'll signal the end of cheap subscriptions and prices will steadily creep up.

I'm not saying that local AI is necessarily economically justified right now; but it's certainly quite reasonable to think that in 4 years the subscriptions will be significantly more expensive.

Cool. I'm imagining the extra fun of using that with a cat jumping at the laser dot.
