It's like reading Claude 5+ output verbatim.
Maybe it's been edited by a human, or maybe not. I could not last more than a few paragraphs.
In my day job I *heavily* use agents for almost everything, so I think I've got a good sense for when AI wrote most of the content.
Ironically this makes me lose interest in reading any "blog" posts that weren't written by a human or at least have a human-sounding voice.
This space seems to be heating up, everyone wanting to build the single pane of glass for agentic work.
I have an M1 Max but I am not paying 50% more than a few months ago to upgrade.
I have bought Apple laptops since 2004 but I can’t justify the current extortionate pricing, so I’ll sit it out (permanently if need be).
Water cooled but it does get a bit loud when I play games, silent for regular usage.
Everything with an Ethernet port is wired, wifi is for phones and tablets only (a few UniFi WiFi 6 APS).
Works great!
Internet has never dropped for me while working, family loves the always working NAS streaming via wired Apple TV.
I actually converted it from the PDF into an explicit skill with the word list inline as well as the main rules.
Works a little bit, but give it a bit of context and the model’s training takes over and it starts talking like a dictionary-huffing crack addict again.
It’s a model problem and no amount of harness hacking seems to fix it.
Listening to Americans talk about energy and vehicles feels like going back in time, they’re stuck in the past and things that worked then and the world is rapidly routing around them. Quite sad to see.
I can prompt the LLM myself thanks.
Basically, I’ve gone from supporting them to hoping someone else wipes the floor with them.
I wonder if everyone at Anthropic talks like this.
If it’s watermarking, lol, good luck with that, it’s enough negative value to make me switch providers and I’m in a position to make this decision at a company level as well (we spend millions a month on Anthropic).
They need to fix it.
I don't care to hear arguments about how npm was _configured wrong_.
A tool with insecure defaults, with a long and storied history of being the vector by which data has been exfiltrated and companies hacked, needs to do an awful lot to justify still being used for any infrastructure our team is responsible for.
The SSD cost 30% more than I paid two years ago and was half the capacity (1TB). The RAM cost double what I paid two years ago, was slower, and was half the capacity (32GB).
Below cost of production my ass.
The only Western car company even competing with them is Tesla, who people love to hate for ideological reasons.
Calling what Chinese companies are doing “dumping” is pure cope for the utter failures of Western companies.
Look at my post history, I’m not pro-China at all, but I am a realist and can see the evidence with my own eyes since we can actually get the vehicles here.
I give it 5 years for Western and Japanese companies to be decimated in this market. Can’t say they don’t deserve it.
Spoiler: Yes.
Personally when going on the road I like portability (14" MBP or MBA), but at home I want raw non-thermally throttled power.
The rest of the jargon and strangeness was absorbed slowly over time until it because natural, like a language.
I still can’t explain how it works to my wife.
I wonder when they will join the rest of us in the future.
The last year with it has been so bad I canceled our $80 Family subscription and switched to the native Apple one despite its feature gap, because 1Password just couldn’t do its basic job reliably (fill passwords without requiring 20 taps, constant unlocking disregarding lock timer settings or some other arcane dance like force killing Safari to reload the plugin).
Very strange, but I’ve seen the same folks dog pile in for other causes, so I guess it’s just a part of the identity now.
