I recently worked on a project where I created an elixir endpoint that handles websocket connections and did all the coordination manually with OTP. I'd like something like Phoenix that would give me an easy way to handle websockets without necessarily needing the phoenic ui stack. Is the underlying websockef functionality available as a seperate module or minimal Phoenix powered server

It will still turn into a sesspool, just not with ideas you disagree with

Twitter allows extremely left and right views and everything I'm between. Bluesky is clearly the progressive stronghold to cloister itself from anything toward the center or right

Willing to bet most distrust in science is due to overexposure of "expert scientists" especially when their uncriticized recommendations lead to civilization regressing policies

Digital IDs during covid: World says yay

Even more than the shoetification is the infantalisation of teaching online, especially in the software field. Lessons and presentations peppered with cutesy art or memes or images completely unrelated to the presentation adide from silly jokes or attempts to add a warm childlike veneer to what the adult presenter is presenting. Its causes my attention to be split and wondering who the lesson was even made for

Because people make societal level choices that lead to low birth rate when things are terribly wrong with the society that demands less people for one reason or another

All of these are terrible.

The land will never be reclaimed by anyone but the owner so why is it a big deal if someone manicures it. Buy your land and do with it what you will.

>Republicans push class divide so to keep their voter base uneducated and poor.

Dems almost exclusively Lord over academia as something so valuable that the people that do jobs that keep the lights on, water running, and the floors steady are tired of hearing how much knowledge they lack. They say this in the same breath as they accuse republicans of keeping the sacred university knowledge from trades workers

This person has the privilege to espouse nihilist doomer philosophy like this.

Why is everyone being pulled into this gossip fest around particular CEOS? This is pure yellow journalism inspired hate mongering. Its not even politics which would make sense

Would he have this problem with smaller classrooms of kids that elect to be in the class rather than having an academic obligation to. There will be always kids who skate by, it just seems like a is exposing that there is a limitation of choices for students in higher education.

Logical Fallacies built into the article headline.

Rent controls limit the potential of the underlying asset by having Tennants hoard their current rent in ever degrading apartments. Its an artificial limitation on a resource that can be renewed to lower costs but you end up with a massive amount of rent hoarders afraid to shop around for better housing. It is such a disruption to incentives for both renters and home providers.
