intregus··on Google Car Search
Does anyone know if this is, or will be, powered by microformats?
intregus··on Ask HN: Review my site: hypejar
Site looks okay so far. Is this just for movies? What's the feature that sets it apart from IMDB or rottentomatoes.com? I see there is a user karma, but I don't see what it's based off of other than ...contributions?

Anyway, looks like some potential here if you can get a user base, but I don't really get the benefit of joining or coming back on a regular basis.

intregus··on iPhone 3G w/iOS4 - slow & very buggy
I avoid using my phone for anything other than phone since "upgrading". At first I thought it was just the developer build, but no. It's just unusable.
intregus··on Apple Open Source
Objective-C has bee around for a long time, and certainly isn't just for Cocoa/Apple.
intregus··on What would a computer engineer Barbie look like?
Marissa Mayer.
intregus··on Prerequisite for learning assembly
Yeah, pretty much a desire to learn it and not get too frustrated if things don't go your way at first. I'm still learning too, but there are some good tutorials out there. Here are a few links:

intregus··on Haiku: A Perfect Desktop Operating System?
Having tried Haiku a few weeks ago, I will say it has a lot of potential. The fact that is has a HIG (human interface guidelines) means it could actually go beyond a hobby OS. I'd like to see some more developers get behind this and see where it goes.
intregus··on Apple Bans Another Developer, 1000+ Apps Pulled
This is very good news. Less spammy shitty apps makes more room for real developers, and less frustration for users.
intregus··on PPK backs down: iPhone developers are not stupid
Interesting. I wrote a similar blog post that I had planned on posting this morning. Guess I don't have to now! http://ryanleland.com/2009/11/iphone-developers-arent-stupid...
intregus··on Poll: [Mac users] Do you use an antivirus ?
I don't on windows either.
intregus··on Rate my startup: SlamPic.com
Tried it out. Seems like a solid start, but noticed some things that bugged me.

Your main div is not actually centered for me, your logo could use some work (anti aliasing the circle portion), and you could maybe make us of gzip. Also, 11 br tags are not a good way of positioning your footer.

intregus··on OpenID worth implementing?
I prefer the idea of simplifying, or removing registration altogether. The only times registration will stop me from using a site is if I don't trust them with my email/password, and if that's the case, then the site probably sucks anyway.

Make a site worth coming back to, and I don't think people mind having to login (if you have a good "remember me" feature).

intregus··on Launch your product. Quit your job.
This looks spammy. Need to give my email address for more info? Why?
intregus··on Ask HN: Best Mathematics book for complete noobie?
There are a few math books in the "Head First" series (which I always love). Those might serve more as refreshers for most people, but for a true math noob (like me), they have really helped.
intregus··on How to improve your website load time
Also, install yslow for firefox: http://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/
intregus··on How I killed my start-up (a post mortem)
OP here. First off, I see a lot of the comments have a very similar theme. 5 months is too soon to give up. Well, I haven't given up, I've only decided there is no business model without overhauling the concept (which I am not prepared to do for the moment).

I have watched traffic, and the habits of the users. The bounce rate could be lowered by tweaking some things, but there is not enough to bring users back on a weekly, or even monthly basis. I am open to suggestions, and will continue to watch my traffic. I have too many other decent ideas to sink more time into a fun site that has no business model (and don't tell me ad-supported is a valid option).

intregus··on How a Minnesota programmer figured out that a NYT photo was altered
Uuhh, yeah. I don't think you'd need to be a programmer to that is altered. Also, I can tell from seeing a few shops in my time.
intregus··on The Toughest Developer Puzzle Ever
Same. It's really tough. I think the 3rd one is all that I'm missing, and I have no ideas for it.
intregus··on Ask HN: Math for hackers.
I think it's needed, and I'd be for it. Should have quick references to algorithms, and some vector math, and intro physics for the people wanting to do game dev.

Check out http://mathworld.wolfram.com/ for some pretty good math resources (I've been really enjoying it).

intregus··on Google’s “Oprah Moment”: An Android Phone For Everyone At Google I/O
This is a pretty awesome move from Google, but don't be fooled. Google has everything to gain, both from gaining would-be developers, and the PR.

Tech Crunch saying something like, "What will we see next week from Apple at its WWDC event? Probably nothing." is really ignorant on a lot of levels.

intregus··on Ask HN: C vs C++
There are things you can do with C++ that you simply cannot with java. I would recommend learning enough java to pick up OOP concepts, and maybe even some design patterns. Getting to that point should take no more than 6 months (if you work with it daily).
intregus··on Ask HN: Please review my webapp: This or That
This reminds me a bit of http://you-vs-me.com
intregus··on Link Building from A to Z
I know that SEO stuff might be relevant to some peoples interests here, but this is neither "Hacker", or "News".
intregus··on Pr0n on the Couch
First common sense blog post I've read on this topic. Can we put this issue to bed, er... to rest... DAMMIT!
intregus··on New drool-worthy WebOS screenshots emerge
So much of this UI looks like it was ripped right from the iPhone... I'm all for innovation, and as they say "A rising tide floats all boats". Just PLEASE don't brag about WebOS UI innovation when the WebOS developers have had 2+ years to study Apples interface designs.
intregus··on Five reasons why this developer won't switch to Mac
You lost all credibility with this statement, "Developers usually don't care for a unified user experience." You are talking about your preferences, and so was the guy who wrote the smashing mag article. You are both making far too general statements.
intregus··on Ask HN: Getting a CS job in a country other than the US
Get a few years of real experience before trying to find work abroad. CS degrees are irrelevant for most of the good jobs.
intregus··on A Programmer's Work-day
At first I thought this was a very accurate article, but then I realized it made no mention of sharing hilarious youtube videos.
intregus··on [dead]
I second that this is spam.

Seems pretty obvious to me that NeXTSTEP was about 5 years ahead of its time.

intregus··on Raindrops splash before they hit the ground
I understand the significance of something like this from a physics perspective, but I'll be honest... "splash-suppressing materials for use in kitchens" made me question the importance of this study.
