iperov··on Anthropic's growth just flattened
It's because everyone is talking about how the bubble will burst! When people talk about it a lot, they tend to believe it. Everyone just needed to give their computers to Sam so that no one could talk about the bubble, and then everything would be fine.
iperov··on The AI cost of JavaScript frameworks
And why hire someone who writes instructions for the agent? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYG1TAzexdo
iperov··on The AI cost of JavaScript frameworks
Thank the gods, nobody's forcing me to be employed.
iperov··on The AI cost of JavaScript frameworks
> in the agentic era, when developers are no longer typing code by hand

I hope I'll be the last person on Earth writing code by hand.

iperov··on Gemini 4 Carbon is the new #1 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5
I couldn't care less, honestly
iperov··on We Won't "Just Hang Out"
The problem with unconditional basic income and unlimited free time is that a person encounters an oppressive sense of meaninglessness and boredom in their heart, because of which they go to a psychiatrist for antidepressants.
iperov··on MicroZig to Adopt Strict No LLM / No AI Policy
If an LLM finds a bug, is that almost the same as an LLM writing code for you? You can write lazy code as a sketch, for example without thinking about nested loops in your head, and then just use an LLM that will fix this loop in the bug report? This can be viewed as a level of AI usage: 10% (for example), where vibe coding is 100%. I think any percentage of usage affects your personal mental sharpness. We know that if something gained somewhere, something lost somewhere. The only question is where the "loss" is, and how it will affect everything and everyone.
iperov··on Solar power is becoming bigger than nuclear
I suppose now it is possible to install a mirror in space, creating shade over countries that receive energy from the sun, and charge a commission for the use of the sun.
iperov··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
Does this bring us closer to an unconditional basic income?
iperov··on The result of the C++26 DIS ballot
The complexity of C++ lies only in template programming, and it doesn't add any efficiency to the final program—on the contrary, it makes the program harder for other programmers to read.

Technically, you're only learning to mentally unfold multi-level nested templates just to verify how they work, and all for the sake of making the program look small with less boilerplate?

This is complete nonsense. For me, C++ died with the 11 standard.

iperov··on We should be more ambitious with the software we build
I haven't yet seen any significant products made with AI that are at least used long-term. All these browser demos, from the Adobe killers to Star Citizen, are just bells and whistles that I close after 30 seconds of use.
iperov··on Nordwand Mono – A monospace font for coders and adventurers
Don't you think this problem was solved more than 50 years ago?
iperov··on Nordwand Mono – A monospace font for coders and adventurers
What problem does this font solve?
iperov··on Recreational Programming
That text sounds like a programmer's depression in the era of AI.
iperov··on Do Frameworks Matter Anymore?
What problem does your project solve?
iperov··on Recreational Programming
That's the whole point: they can't, because even in any useless "fun" programming there was motivation that it might be useful to someone in the future, or simply to fill the internet with information. But now there is absolutely no usefulness in creating useless projects.
iperov··on Recreational Programming
why? Has AI taken away your permission to create useless things?
iperov··on Using AI for just 10 minutes erodes your ability to persist at hard things
I don't care, we will die anyway.
iperov··on Vinix is an effort to write a modern, fast, and useful operating system
That isn't an answer; it's self-consolation. The main thing is that you accept it yourself.
iperov··on Vinix is an effort to write a modern, fast, and useful operating system
That is not an answer.
iperov··on Vx – One Language, Every Chip
Does it produce programs that are faster than those generated by ISPC?
iperov··on Vinix is an effort to write a modern, fast, and useful operating system
What problem does Vinix solve?
