ipsum2··on MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch
"Up to 2 more hours than an M1 Macbook Pro" sounds less impressive.
ipsum2··on MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch
I wish I hadn't read this comment, because now I really feel like a 360 hinge is sorely lacking.
ipsum2··on MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch
Most Windows laptops have had touch for a very long time now.
ipsum2··on CorridorKey 2.0
The issues aren't nits, they're really obvious, even after YouTube compression.
ipsum2··on Microsoft offers voluntary buyouts to a quarter of its workforce
60,000 employees. That's crazy.
ipsum2··on OpenAI and Anthropic cut their LLM prices by up to 80% within a few months. Why?
> much cheaper to access

I'm calling BS. I use Kimi, chatGPT (Astra/Sol), and Claude (Opus 5.5), and Kimi is by far the most expensive in terms of tokens and $/work done. Using OpenCode harness.

ipsum2··on OpenAI and Anthropic cut their LLM prices by up to 80% within a few months. Why?
This is not correct. Their margins are extremely high, (~1000%), and none of the factors you listed would cause them to have negative margins.
ipsum2··on Scientists rediscover how to make ancient Roman colour-changing glass
This has been known for a long long time too (decades+), its not a recent discovery. Journalism is just marketing at this point.
ipsum2··on Today, we hacked what we'd set out to hack: the iPhone
Or it assumes you have $5 to spend on the tokens for inference. Not everyone has the money.
ipsum2··on Today, we hacked what we'd set out to hack: the iPhone
You can do a lot with the Chinese open source models.
ipsum2··on Alibaba hikes DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 output prices by 230%
AI blogspam.
ipsum2··on Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly Report GLP-1 Signals of Slowed Biological Aging at ARDD
This is from a year ago. Millions of people are on GLP-1s, there's definitely not a mass blindness that's ongoing.
ipsum2··on OpenCode Hacked: User credentials leaked
"mass distillation campaign" there's no public evidence of this. I wonder what OpenCode/Anomaly has, would be an interesting postmortem.
ipsum2··on OpenAI engineer arrested in bugging of executive conference room
Nice job answering your own question.
ipsum2··on OpenAI engineer arrested in bugging of executive conference room
Why do we poach eggs without stealing them in the dead of night? It's just English.
ipsum2··on OpenAI engineer arrested in bugging of executive conference room
They hired (poached) a bunch of the top talent from OpenAI and other places. It's really not a secret.
ipsum2··on Solar panels that plug into your wall
One of my neighbors has this, I've always wondered why it was like this until now.
ipsum2··on Muse Wonder
Why people downvote objective, non-controversial comments, is beyond me.
ipsum2··on Muse Wonder
I don't know why you were downvoted, MSL stands for Meta Superintelligence Lab, and it named that before Trump.
ipsum2··on Muse Wonder
The ML community has been using the phrase "Super Intelligence" long before Trump took office. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superintelligence:_Paths,_Dang... was published in 2014.
ipsum2··on Show HN: Making a flexible "neon" t-shirt with LED filaments
I wonder if white thread would've been more invisible, the black thread seems more obvious against the LEDs? Being nitpicky, its a cool project for a single night.
ipsum2··on All the numbers: Amazon Prime Day 2026 powered by AWS
It's available in the US as well. It's replaced my usage of Camel^3.
ipsum2··on Meta’s Muse is an adorable privacy and security dumpster fire
Meta CTO is Bosworth, not David Singleton. If an article can't get a basic fact like that right, I have low hopes for the rest of it to be accurate.
ipsum2··on Beam: Reflection's 501B open-weight model
I still don't get why, after over a decade on HN, people refuse to Google very simple questions.
ipsum2··on F.02 Decommission
Figure is so funny. All they do is produce these sorts of stunts to gain VC money, with nothing real to show.
ipsum2··on Claude Opus 5.5
Unlocking the gallery sucks. It'll make users spam random clicks and worsen your data quality.
ipsum2··on The DeepMind Institute
Tl;DR: It's not a new organization, or non-profit institute. It's a Substack/blog.

> DMI is a platform for researchers and thinkers from across Google DeepMind, Google, and the wider global research community to work on and publish creative, deeply informed ideas about a world with AGI. They will not always agree, and they will likely change their minds, as more data and information comes to light at the fast-moving frontier. We created this institute precisely because broad-based intellectual discussion and debate are required to arrive at a consensus about how to address the challenges and opportunities we face as a society.

ipsum2··on Show HN: Nari Qwen3-TTS and Qwen3-ASR – High accuracy, low latency and cost
If you're going to announce a TTS model, service, or whatever, you really need demos.
ipsum2··on How the Chorleywood Bread Process transformed British bread
You can buy pure gluten powder (sold as "vital wheat gluten") and add it to get the equivalent of the Canadian flour.
ipsum2··on YuE2 · Frontier Music with Symbolic Planning
You can ask it to generate acapella.
