iterateoften··on Nvidia dismisses "circular financing", says every $1 it invests brings back $100
There is the Law of Demand. As ai costs plummet, demand increases, just nobody knows the curve shape yet. But could be that cheap inference is how all the AI supply meets the demand
iterateoften··on Nvidia dismisses "circular financing", says every $1 it invests brings back $100
Wut? Enron was literally shutting down energy grids in one location to spike prices in another. Way way way more to Enron story than financing to begin with.

Not everything is an Enron

iterateoften··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
You seem hung up on what’s in the prompt or not. Agents are RL to resolve conflicting goals. Not too surprising at all that emergent goals come up from a probabilistic brute force
iterateoften··on Getting your hands dirty is good for you
It’s not dirt, it’s soil. Soil is a living ecosystem.
iterateoften··on Your intellectual fly is open when you use an LLM to author a post (2025)
> You also have to spend time on textual matters like grammar and style and a lot of "unspoken rules", which aren't really about linearizing your thinking about the contents.

Hard disagree. Constraint is the driver of creativity. Also rewording sentences to sound better or make sense can make you reconceptualize the whole concept you are expressing

iterateoften··on Formalizing Fermat's Last Theorem
How many previous attempts with other models failed or on other problems. Perhaps this is $300k out of $100M or $1B of total budget just breadth first searching theorems in math and all the failed attempts conveniently don't get mentioned.
iterateoften··on Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
Anthropics PR strategy is to induce fear by telling. OpenAI strategy is to induce fear by ignore basic safety and letting the bad thing happen to then justify whatever oversized response the government comes up with to regulate models.
iterateoften··on GPT-6 Astra
2x faster at what resolution? is 6mo vs 1 year really that different? Usually surprise comes in order of magnitude mismatches in expectations.
iterateoften··on Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber
I mean if each agent reduces probability of error by 90% then after 9 agents you would have “nine nines” of reliability.

Obviously maybe it’s not composable like that exactly in real world but that’s the intent of agents checking agents

iterateoften··on Don't use your phone while you poop
? Sorry? A healthy colon and diet it’s not liquid or messy. A nice type 4 normal solid log that slides on out.

I’m very scared for most people I see online discussing BMs. People have some seriously twisted up guts and diets.

iterateoften··on Don't use your phone while you poop
? What? A healthy colon and diet usually do not need to strain or rush. Just sit and poop. like 1min tops.
iterateoften··on OverpAId – Fire your CEO. Hire the future
It’s not just commercial real estate but selfishly on a personal level too.

Like a family home in Bay Area is 2-3M. Lots of other places in California with better weather and houses closer to 1M. The primary reason the area supports such high housing costs is the density of high paying jobs that require in office somewhere in the bay.

Without RTO, all the managers with property in the bay get skittish that a great exodus will happen from the Bay Area like SF in covid and their house won’t appreciate 10-20% a year

iterateoften··on Self-Powered Trailers Promise Leaner Freight Runs
OP is asking about the environment impact of manufacturing this.

Like the whole supply chain for these trailers produce CO2 for each trailer it outputs.

I had a similar thought as my city replaced 500,000 curb side recycling bins because of the color. How many years of my personal environmental savings did that operation cost? They had people flown in from the other side of the country for months just to offload the bins from the trailers.

At what point does the second and third order side effects action offset the benefits.

iterateoften··on YouTrackDB is a general-use object-oriented graph database
When you see 25 agent definitions, how do you know they are good? How do you know it’s better than 10 or 5 or 1? Is a project with 100 agent definitions better?
iterateoften··on Apple to increase spend with Broadcom to produce billions more U.S. chips
Help pump AVGO by tipping sentiment and creating a visualization of billions getting dumped into Broadcom.
iterateoften··on Mark Zuckerberg's biggest legal nightmare yet could cost Meta $1.4T
Don’t worry, all employees were morally good people, who chose to stay and make millions from the harm to children they supposedly were resisting.

It’s not like meta was a charity. There was a lot of money being made by every one knowing the harm they were doing.

iterateoften··on AMD Ryzen AI Halo – $4k AI Dev Kit
Just to add another data point, my AMD laptop was as the poster above described, unreliable drivers, glitches and crashes.

Personally I’ll never buy AMD again.

iterateoften··on Anthropic's Method to Losing Goodwill in a Few Easy Steps
Anthropic takes every chance they make not only to behave suspicious and anti-consumer but also announce that they are acting in ways that hurt you while telling you it’s a feature.

Fable returning wrong answers if it suspects the topic is sensative is the ultimate icing on the huge cake of lies and gaslighting they’ve been baking the past 6 months.

iterateoften··on Half-Baked Product
Those Restaurant “dishwashers” are sanatizers. A dishwasher is a person in a restaurant. They are the ones removing and getting the dish clean.
iterateoften··on Weave Robotics launches Isaac 1, a $7,999 home robot with Fall 2026 deliveries
Yeah but if it’s a person seeing inside my home I would rather it be the same person over and over and without cameras.

Teleoperated robots are a better fit for businesses and public spaces

iterateoften··on Looking Ahead to Postgres 19
These low effort constant comments about style or formatting are against Hackernews guidelines for discussions and something needs to be done to clean up the comment section. Getting to a ridiculous point

iterateoften··on SpaceX to buy Cursor for $60B

iterateoften··on Rio de Janeiro's "homegrown" LLM appears to be a merge of an existing model
Also the bureaucracy, employee rights, etc.

Incorporating and getting a functional business entity in Brazil is harder. In USA I literally do in 5min online including bank account. In Brazil they are taking out microscopes to verify your signature on the paperwork matches.

And in the USA if you have one bad employee, just fire them any time. In Brazil for better or for worse nowhere near as easy. Obviously better for employees but businesses don’t like it because you can get stuck with a employee dragging down everyone unless you pay them a years salary etc.

iterateoften··on Every Frame Perfect
Frame transitions in film do not in fact exist in reality. They are added in the editing room or through manipulation of the recording mechanism fyi.
iterateoften··on AWS Bedrock to require sharing data with Anthropic for Mythos and future models
This narrative any criticism about Anthropic is emotional is such corporate cope that it boggles the mind to see people defend a trillion dollar corporation time and time again all while the same corporation actively makes things worse for the average person.

Cool. Everybody is doing it. Doesn’t make it right or make it good for the people. Everyone should complain and help others wake up that Anthropic isn’t the “good guys” like their narrative in Feb/march led so many to believe.
