Yep it was really easy. I actually modified the NLE server so is now hosted on thermostat.local on my home network.

Agreed, why should serbia get a thread and not BC's massive flip from far left to conservatives with last night landslide win.
izend··on Europe EV sales rose 70.3% in September, 32.6% of market share
What about data centers... or Europe is just going to live in an non-AI world or just outsource it to Kazakhstan (https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/23/nvidia-huang-investment-kaza...) just like the Germans outsourced their energy production to Russia?
izend··on America has lost 200k of jobs in media, film and the arts. How much is AI?
The quality of Hollywood movies has gone down substantially.

I can barely watch anything on Netflix due to issues like this:

Could do something like oauth to gmail + OTP (or passkeys) on cloudflare workers with long lived sessions or I could vibe code an iOS app even and side load it. That would be very secure as well. I haven't decided yet.

I have a personal password manager secured like that I vibe coded to replace 1password and so far it is working great.

What a coincidence, I am working on deploying the https://nolongerevil.com/ on my 2nd Gen Nest Thermostat, my wife has bugging me for weeks to either fix it or buy a new one.

I am actually going to self-host and vibe code my own cloud service on Cloudflare.

Europe is going to have to build more electricity generation...

izend··on The Rise and Fall of Agent Civilizations
Why wasn't the traffic in/out of the boxes that the agents were running on monitored?
izend··on New MCP Roadmap
I am very curious how many MCP servers will actually implement all of this:

"MCP authorization today is built around a person approving access in a browser. That works well for interactive clients, but more and more of the callers are agents running as cloud workloads with their own identity, acting on behalf of a user who isn’t present, or delegating narrower authority to sub-agents. We want MCP servers to have a standardized way to recognize and trust those agent identities, built on existing standards rather than pasted API keys and long-lived tokens.

The work here covers finalizing Demonstrating Proof of Possession (DPoP) and driving its adoption, and defining an opinionated path for agent identity and delegation through Workload Identity Federation, the ID-JAG grant behind Enterprise-Managed Authorization, and standard token exchange. We will also continue to grow our engagement with the OAuth standards bodies, including the IETF OAuth and WIMSE working groups, to help the underlying standards evolve with the building blocks that agent identity needs."

Look at the M2 supply growth, it can't collapse with that growth but inflation will run quite high.

I have been very critical of the Federal gov (less so under Carney) and I will admit this job report actually was very good as it wasn't just majority public sector hirings which was very common under Trudeau:

Private-sector jobs: +58,000 jobs [wealthprof...ssional.ca], [retail-insider.com]

Government/public-sector jobs:-27,000 jobs (a decline) [wealthprof...ssional.ca], [retail-insider.com]

Self-employed: +44,000 jobs [wealthprof...ssional.ca], [retail-insider.com]

Part-time jobs: +36,600 jobs [money.usnews.com], [ca.finance.yahoo.com]

izend··on Google will expand age checks on Android worldwide till the end of the year
It hasn't completely but she was watching TikTok style mindrot youtube videos so that least that is blocked now.

We blocked a bunch of domains on her laptop so it is just very painful for her now.

izend··on Google will expand age checks on Android worldwide till the end of the year
Are you a parent?

I have personally used the parental controls on Android, iOS and ChromeOS and to be honest they are terrible. Issues with syncing changes, the terrible UX for parental access control (iOS...), issues around audit/access logs, issues around prompting the parent for access.

I am honestly shocked that Apple known for its polished experience hasn't been forced by angry parents.

My daughter's school actually advised parents to not enable parental controls on her ChromeBook because it would interfere with the school's education websites but my daughter was caught playing web games in class so we decided to lock her down anyways.
