jackblack8989··on RE:DOM – Tiny turboboosted JavaScript library for creating user interfaces
I have only one upvote to give you but thank you for your comment. I am not very familiar with the Js world and it's riddled with vocal minority of not-so-knowledgeable people and I had no clue that the vdom fad wasn't actually reasonable.

Because no big companies post here. HN is a niche.

(since no other way to talk)

You mentioned, I think, correctly, that the list is for those who have their basics right and want to step their game up.

I'm assuming you have your basics right? If so, what resources did you use to get there?

This guy pretends to be an intellectual but is the biggest wannabe I know. He tried to block the latest Steve Jobs film because it showed how much of an asshole Jobs was
jackblack8989··on If Mark Zuckerberg runs for president, will Facebook help him win?
I remember reading in a reputable publication quoting sources that Trump is considering him as the most serious candidate.

If anything Trump would be afraid of non-politicians, given the anti-establishment sentiments prevalent recently and fueled by Sanders.

In my opinion, Trump won because Hillary and the DNC in general is full of corrupt crooks. The DNC conceded nothing to the Sanders side during the nomination, turning off lights on their side. That's the votes that swung in Trump's favor. Rather than reforming themselves, they diverted attention by concocting Russia collusion story, something that fell completely flat.

With Zuckerberg/Sanders/xyz-not-establishment running, I think we may have a chance at beating Trump for the second term.

jackblack8989··on Examining a vintage RAM chip, I find a counterfeit with a different die inside
Any experts here care to tell how does one check for RAM quality? Does CPU-Z do it? (Writing from work, don't have admin perms to use)

Not talking about this particular case, but maybe case of a RAM not working in general.

jackblack8989··on Status: Investigating reports of connectivity issues
I am eating and I felt my stomach literally churn. I think it was a bit of an overreaction but considering they are a popular firm, not so much.

Gitlab pays me $50 per upvote (and a bonus based on the number of comments and my comment rank)

Reminder to avoid the github monoculture and move to other git providers as a backup.

Gitlab is open source and has auto-pull from github

jackblack8989··on Firefox 55 and Selenium IDE
I have a feeling that the kind of firms that were benefiting from Selenium IDE (hiring cheap labor to write tests as an afterthought) were not the kind of firms that would spend money to contribute.

This isn't sustainable.

I came here to ask this- can you briefly tell me what's better? I'm the guy who only cares about two things- red in evening and blue during day. Should I care for something more?
jackblack8989··on Rust for the Web
Lol, I'm sorry it was a bit snarky! You've obviously done a great job but if anything the jab was not at you but at the trend...
jackblack8989··on Rust for the Web
This is all good and dandy but I don't like the webpage font-color! Can we have more of black on black so that it's even more modern and minimal? Or white-on-white which is more of a trend these days?
