You apparently don't understand Indians.

Depends, I guess
jason-phillips··on The Corporate Happiness Treadmill and the Case for Doing Less
> None of this is real

Earlier in my career, I was at a sporting event and realized that tens of thousands of people all around me had a device in their pocket that I helped make, that my team made. Seeing it made it real.

Never underestimate your potential impact. Each of us makes decisions that change the world, that write a new future, every single day. Make the best of those opportunities.

jason-phillips··on The Corporate Happiness Treadmill and the Case for Doing Less
Well, that's not quite how it works, but ok. I can see how you'd think that if you're easily commoditized.

Ngmi.
jason-phillips··on The Corporate Happiness Treadmill and the Case for Doing Less
That's a scary word! Should I be scared?
jason-phillips··on The Corporate Happiness Treadmill and the Case for Doing Less
Effectually true.

Highly recommend freewill alternatives to workplace terrorism.

While you're in there, it may be worth a pass.

> I cannot unsee this from the massive purges in the military, rooting out the most competent leadership.

Structural coherence issues aside, is this some sort of a joke, or just thinly veiled personal bias presented as fact?

jason-phillips··on The Rise and Fall of Agent Civilizations
Agree. I prefer "agentic AI system" for the former.

> it's seemingly impossible to have a single thread about something like this that isn't almost entirely negative or political bickering

After the resurrection of Twitter, the conservative-leaning contingent left for X. This place was left to the miserable left, and as you would expect, is now mostly intolerable.

jason-phillips··on Armed police swarm student after AI mistakes bag of Doritos for a weapon
No, I just don't live around any of you people. I have copious amounts of freedom, including free speech.

You get the society/government/neighbors that you deserve.

jason-phillips··on Armed police swarm student after AI mistakes bag of Doritos for a weapon
I got pulled aside because I absentmindedly showed them my concealed carry permit, not my driver's license. I told them I was a consultant working for their local government and was going back to Austin. No harm no foul.
jason-phillips··on Should we drain the Everglades?
I used to swim with alligators in the bayou when I was a kid in the 1980s. They're not so bad.
jason-phillips··on Mark Zuckerberg says social media is over
Not once in the article does Mark say social media is over.
jason-phillips··on Show HN: MCP-Shield – Detect security issues in MCP servers
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. But if you must, abstract for good time.

> People have been struggling with securing against SQL injection attacks for decades.

Parameterized queries.

A decades old struggle is now lifted from you. Go in peace, my son.

jason-phillips··on The Agent2Agent Protocol (A2A)
Yes, to much of what you said.
jason-phillips··on The Agent2Agent Protocol (A2A)
The way they're framing this attempts to stave off disintermediation, which is the real threat.
jason-phillips··on The Agent2Agent Protocol (A2A)
This doesn't say anything about the protocol other than what would be obvious (a JSON card describing the agent's schema) and that it will use http (such a safe, but low-effort bet). I was hoping for more, but with so many cooks in the kitchen, I guess I'm not surprised.

jason-phillips··on OnlyFangs has made 'World of Warcraft' into Twitch's best soap opera
It must have been nerfed then. No way you could do this back in 2006 vanilla wow.
jason-phillips··on Bankruptcy judge rejects sale of Infowars to The Onion
> What recourse is left when the legal system is this broken?

Exactly. The lawfare must stop.

jason-phillips··on Scientific American's departing editor and the politicization of science
> Maybe in culture it's ok to fight dirty and stretch some truths in order to force newer perspectives into the zeitgeist. Maybe it's even neccesary when the opposition is willing to lie outright, and loudly, as a first resort. But that doesn't work with science. Even if the motivations are pure, it's destined to backfire. It should backfire. Science itself is under assault and losing its ability to hold together some semblance of a shared reality.

The number of times one contradicts oneself in just a few words here, with such a lack of self-awareness, is amazing.

Incompetent leadership has consequences. Always monitor, evaluate, and plan accordingly.
jason-phillips··on Intel Solidifies $3.5B Deal to Make Chips for Military
This is nothing more than Intel joining the ranks of the other tbtf government contractors. That's how they plan to survive.
jason-phillips··on Toyota bets big on hybrid-only models as EV demand slows
You may be building a straw man. None of your criticisms may be valid as they attempt to discredit Toyota for strategic decisions it didn't make, precisely because these decisions would not align with its operating philosophy which has allowed them to become one of the most valuable brands and emulated models in history.
