javan··on Why ContentEditable Is Terrible, Or: How the Medium Editor Works (2014)
They all use contenteditable for I/O only (no execCommand), and they all maintain their own internal document model.

What ton of bugs? Trix is used by thousands of people daily in Basecamp 3. I'd like to think it's pretty stable.
javan··on Trix: A rich text editor for everyday writing
You can also drop files on the editor. Try it on the demo site.

LOL at being the lowest rated comment in this thread. I spent the last year (just a tad longer than two weeks) working on Basecamp along with a team of talented people.
javan··on Basecamp Personal
Totally agree

javan··on WYSIHTML5: A better approach to rich text editing
Correct.
javan··on Bootstrap-wysihtml5: a simple, beautiful wysiwyg editor
Hmmm. Not sure what you're referring to. We've made some improvements (http://37signals.com/svn/posts/3137-using-event-capturing-to...), but nothing specifically related to the editor/Chrome.
javan··on Bootstrap-wysihtml5: a simple, beautiful wysiwyg editor
The new Basecamp uses wysihtml5 and we're quite happy with it!
javan··on Ruby Programming Language (alternative Ruby home page)
The example Ruby code jammed into a narrow column like that doesn't do much do demonstrate how beautiful Ruby code can be.

Chicago, IL (or anywhere) - Rails Programmer @ 37signals

Amazing group of people; high-quality, high-traffic apps. http://jobs.37signals.com/jobs/8508

javan··on $140 adjustable height standing/sitting table
I use a crank-adjustable base (http://www.gibraltarinc.com/item.asp?id=66) and with a birch counter top from Ikea (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90014922). It's easy to adjust and cost around $425 total.
javan··on Ask HN: Review RentPost.com
I would change the "Few Goodies" wording on the Take the Tour page; it feels like there's very few goodies. "Highlights" or even "A Few Goodies" works better.
javan··on Show HN: Our (two) weekend project: 365.io - A photo a day for one year.
Yes. From Flickr: "The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the Flickr Community Guidelines "pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this."
javan··on Amazon Route 53 - A New DNS Service from AWS
It would be nice if they added this service to their management console; I'm lazy.
