Where does the source you refered to provide evidence of hybrid war?

julosflb··on France and Spain wildfires: more than 300k people displaced
I think that is the root of the problem, there is no one magick trick. We need to attack it from many angles, as each of them is weighting only a couple of percents. Reduce air traffic and reduce meat consumption and reduce fossil fuel for transportation and reduce deforestation...
julosflb··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (July 2026)
I had similar idea, a tool to model the economy of a country. The idea would be to give to every one a simple tool to groundcheck political programms before voting. The economy is complex, there is no simple solution to a complex problem, only trade offs. But you need to see the effect of these trade offs before making a decision and elect one or another politician.
julosflb··on The unbearable cheapness of open weight models
I like to think of llms as seamless plagiarism machines.

There is a french company (https://unseenlabs.com/fr/) that specializes in tracking ship at sea through observing their RF emission from space. Cool tech. I'm pretty sure their main clients are not all civil...
julosflb··on Wind power slashed 4.6B euros off electricity bills in Spain last year
Yes that's sound weird but this is to make sure gas peaker plants which by definition run only a fraction of time can be profitable and be built.
julosflb··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (Nov 2025)
Working on D2xlab, a fast, browser-based tool to explore, clean, and compare time series (CSV, simulation outputs, etc.) visually.

julosflb··on Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change
Diesel engines are also more efficient.
julosflb··on Launch HN: Maritime Fusion (YC W25) – Fusion Reactors for Ships
Nearly 40% of shipping volume worldwide is moving fossil fuels (coal, oil, gaz). The easiest way to reduce drastically shipping emission is reducing usage of fossil fuels...

julosflb··on Nearly half of teenagers globally cannot read with comprehension
They didn't wait for their parents to tell - they figured out with their friends.
julosflb··on New images show state of preservation of Ernest Shackleton's ship
I can confirm. I didn't know the story and I picked up that book randomly in a book store a couple years ago. I loved it.
julosflb··on FFT-based ocean-wave rendering, implemented in Godot
Very neat! I'm hydrodynamics by background and I wondered a long time ago why this kind of approach was not used as I always found ocean waves to look awful in movies. Once you describe ocean sea state in frequency domain, it is quite easy to give to floating objects like ships realistic motions using what we called RAO in this field (linear operator). You can also model sea disturbance (diffracted and radiated waves) caused by an object in a similar fashion.
julosflb··on Everything we can't describe in music
I visited conservatoire des arts et metiers museum in Paris a couple years ago. It is full of fascinating scientific devices from the past. Among then was the timbre analyser. I was blown away. A purely analogic spectrum analyser.

julosflb··on Self-pay gas station pumps break across NZ as software can't handle Leap Day
In France at least, more and more stations require pre-paying at the counter, especially stations in big cities.
julosflb··on 525 Private jets departed Las Vegas after the Super Bowl ended
The problem with this line of thinking in my opinion is that we have 30x3% problems... sure individually they would not make a difference but we need to act on all front.
julosflb··on New UK record for wind power set today – 21.81 GW between 0900-0930 GMT
Cut off wind speed is typically around 25m/s steady, so almost 100km/h. Beyond that indeed they stop producing.
julosflb··on Price paid for offshore power to rise by 50%
A very nice writing about that concept where more wind power drives price down: https://jeromeaparis.substack.com/p/the-cost-of-wind-the-pri...
julosflb··on Price paid for offshore power to rise by 50%
Beware that the £70 MWh is as per 2012 price, as were the previous £44 of AR5. So effectively close to £100MWh corrected for inflation.

julosflb··on USCG says ‘debris field’ discovered within search area for missing submersible
I m wondering what sort of cycles they are referring to. I would expect one very big full pressure cycle when slowly going down to seabed and returning up to surface. Unless they do hundreds of descent with the same hull...
julosflb··on Launch HN: OutSail (YC W23) – Wingsails to reduce cargo ship fuel consumption
Although I don't necessarily share your tone, I share some of your ideas.

https://www.lowtechmagazine.com/2021/05/how-to-design-a-sail... is worth reading. Basically container ships are incredibly energy efficient. If we want to go back to sailing ships for cargo, then we need to massively scale down global exchanges.

Now on a positive note, if we find some devices, easy to operate, low cost and that can save few percent of fuel (being fossile or green), then that could still be useful.

julosflb··on Launch HN: OutSail (YC W23) – Wingsails to reduce cargo ship fuel consumption
What is the order of magnitude of the wind load generated on one single wing?
julosflb··on Launch HN: OutSail (YC W23) – Wingsails to reduce cargo ship fuel consumption
Did you check https://farwind-energy.com/fr/ ? That's exactly what they are trying to do !

I would really like to see numbers; as elegant as it appears, I don't really think it can be very efficient.

I would think this would equally affect both boys and girls.
julosflb··on IPCC climate crisis report delivers ‘final warning on 1.5C’
"There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a liveable and sustainable future for all (very high confidence)"

Given how each word is carefully weighted in their report, this sounds a bit scary to me.
