Just do your stuff, they way you're supposed to - maybe you'll learn something...
justsorneguy··on Do Apple's app reviewers review applications really serious?
Well, name it something else, then, like "Fred" or "Editronulator", and save the rest for the description...
justsorneguy··on Ask HN: Can GitLab CI support complete infrastructure automation?
I've found it to work very well. I particularly like how flexible it is and how well it is integrated. You can do some chatops, it even comes with a (not quite feature complete) slack clone (Mattermost), if you like. And, if it doesn't work, GitLab supports interfacing with Jenkins CI (but I don't think you will need to).

They also release updates and improvements at an incredible pace, so next month it will be even better.

Note, I am not affiliated with GitLab in any way, I just use it and love it.

justsorneguy··on Ask HN: How do you deal with distraction?
I don't, otherwise I wouldn't be posting comments on random online threads - I think you're asking the wrong people for this advice...
justsorneguy··on Ask HN: Anything I can do about a probable confidentiality breach?
Yes, but you might want them to make a little money, first - http://www.recode.net/2017/2/1/14476500/facebook-oculus-zeni....
justsorneguy··on Up to 20% of all U.S. electronic waste may be ending up in Hong Kong
I think we can do better than that. I'd like to explore how we can get our numbers up a little bit. I don't think the 30% range is entirely unrealistic...
justsorneguy··on Ask HN: How does unlimited vacation policy work in your company?
I usually wait about a week before activating my unlimited vacation. This frees me up to look for my next job, which must also offer an unlimited vacation policy. I've been doing this for about thirteen months. I project my annual income this year will be around $1.7 million. So far, it has worked very well and I would recommend the arrangement to anyone.
justsorneguy··on Ask HN: What to do about key supplier TRIPLING their prices at short notice?
Pay them...

justsorneguy··on Ask HN: Best route from developer to pentester
I think https://www.offensive-security.com/information-security-trai... is probably currently the best bang for the training buck...
justsorneguy··on Ask HN: Best route from developer to pentester
Oh, and there are some good podcasts, too. Like Risky Business, 7 minute security, Liquidmatrix, Security now... 7 minute security just had a decent series on how to set up a DIY $500 pentesting lab, for example (https://vimeo.com/179271256).

Finding some famous pentesters to follow on Twitter can't hurt, either.

justsorneguy··on Ask HN: Best route from developer to pentester
I think https://www.cybrary.it/ is pretty good for free lessons. You can combine it with VMs like https://www.offensive-security.com/metasploit-unleashed/requ... and those from https://www.vulnhub.com/ for a bit of hands-on. Also, you can get a lot of information specific to your language, like http://guides.rubyonrails.org/security.html and https://github.com/presidentbeef/brakeman to look at real apps, to see what can go wrong.
justsorneguy··on Slack’s director of engineering doesn’t believe in diversity quotas
Diversity quotas explicitly enforce something other than "hiring the best person" as their conscious aim. I think the diversity problem is exacerbated by this type of thinking as much as refusing to hire a <insert gender, race, religion, nationality here>.
justsorneguy··on Slack’s director of engineering doesn’t believe in diversity quotas
Good! Do you know how we promote diversity? Always hire the best person for the job, no matter what. We've ended up with a pretty diverse group, as a result.

Pure crap spam...
justsorneguy··on Is there a company that sells meal planning?
Yes, it is. I use it (the featured meal this week is Cuban-Stuffed Pork Tenderloin), and like it quite a bit. They have menus for restrictive diets as well as menus to take advantage of sales at certain food retailers. Their menu is better than their website (which actually is better than it used to be), and they have a decent android app.. They have a free trial, check it out - https://emeals.com/account/trial.php.

justsorneguy··on Ask HN: Where else do junior developers congregate?
Workplaces.

justsorneguy··on Ask HN: When to notify employer of security vulnerability?
I would post to an online discussion, to obtain community feedback.
