jwpapi··on Binance-hacker-1029 – $5.6B stolen from Binance
When I want protection I put my money in my bank, when I want ownership I do crypto.

I’m aware that not every crypto would do that. I’m quite sure the BTC won’t get frozen.

Just saying. A non government controlled currency would help to a fairer less corrupt place, but that’s not what crypto is used for.

Imagine a world where governments can’t just print money to save reckless companies.

We would probs have less oligarchy

Bro hold crypto for yourself. Like take some ownership, remember 12 words in your mind something and no matter what situation you have some money. Don’t put it anywhere except for whatever transactions you need to do

Damn sorry my ai slopped.

Need to get better in prompting

No lol

I don’t think stolen crypto should be frozen. How is that different to banks? Why do I need crypto now ?

You can have crypto without hardware wallets
jwpapi··on One reviewer per layer: splitting code review by the way code is read
My problem is right now that every kind of reviewing process adds un-needed complexity which later slows down your agility and increases your cost and performance degrades.

If you have feature and 6 different reviewers go over it the logic bulks up easily. I wonder how other guys handle that? I’m all up and I want this to work, but this is my current constraint.

I often get bad suggestions from reviewing monitors because they get something wrong. Sometimes I get good ones, very good ones, but some are bad. So I’m always down to look at reviews about bugs, but I would be afraid after 6 reviewers its just a bunch of text and its confusing me so end result is worse as me looking through actual critical stuff. My context is limited too and completely hands-off is not reliable enough...

How do you guys do it?

material exploration is algorithms nowadays
jwpapi··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
Okay I looked it up. I think the answer is here we don’t know it depends on if the physical world is discrete or not and we don’t know that yet.
jwpapi··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
I think first it’s artificial colonisation
jwpapi··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
Like we haven’t solved it but it we partly did finish birth in an artificial womb and we have birthed extinct species through a different breed.

Theoretically it might be possible to do embryo arks where you would send machines to a new habitable planet and they would travel for hundreds of of thousand of years then build everything up and then artificially bring humans back to life.

Whilst this obviously has an enormous amount of challenges, we don’t know a physical law that is not allowing that.

Imagine what we do now and what we do in 100.000+ years when we face extinction.

We might also just blow us up, even though I think extinction is very unlikely

Practically an embryo ark

jwpapi··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
I honestly think they are both finite lol.
jwpapi··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
How about sending robots to a habitable planet with biological material of humans, programmed to tell us the story of earth?

Re life quality: Sure technical advancement can lead to cheaper electricity, better materials discovered, disease prevention and a lot of other stuff. A lot is hold back by complexity.

I don’t want to make a call that this will happen and that it’s a net-positive for society. I’m just saying the technical advancements is interesting and enablin.

jwpapi··on Three new discoveries in mathematics, computer science, and physics
Honestly, I’m a bit scared but also a bit excited.

I’m currently reading Africa by John Reader which covers a lot of humanity storyline. From HN I get the humanity achievements that are happening right now.

The feeling digesting both daily is in order of magnitudes bigger than what any really exciting tv show did to me.

I honestly at this point don’t know anything about what could be possible and what couldnt.

I understand that this is really freightening, but also especially ETH being false gives even more hope that some fundamental problems could be solved in our lifetime, for example understanding universe, aging, colonization of planets and also our limits. I know I’m the minority, but these answers really interest me.

jwpapi··on CSS-Tricks has a new owner
As most others I’m also very doubtful of making this a worthwhile venture. I hope OP didn’t pay too much and makes this a chill project.

I see 2 additional paths:

1) I have no knowledge, but how does the let the crawlers pay work? Could a site like css-tricks with a lot of backlinks make money on that ? Or do LLMs have enough free content available

2) He could make this an anti-llm design website.

I have auto-compact on at 400k

jwpapi··on Show HN: Steal My Bitcoin
Do you want to donate OP money for keeping the server up?

I think we might not know about the actual exploit, as it would be given there was no further config change worth more than the 2k.

@OP, was it a final cap raise or another config change or was the the 1MB wall really broken?

jwpapi··on Show HN: Steal My Bitcoin
pretty sure it will work soon again wheneverybody turns off their monitors and auto-attacks
jwpapi··on JetBrains Thinkrail
NGL Jetbrains has massively helped my developer journey and be a great tool for many many years. I don’t open it that often anymore, but I see that they’re trying hard to stay relevant, which is probably not easy as probably the whole market moved against you.

So I’m willing to give it a try.

you must be the first with this idea
jwpapi··on Every AI model has the same "controversial" take on humans
Not gonna lie that seems true.
jwpapi··on After automation: Solo founding will be the default
I just run ads and it’s profitable and I’m running it alone. Before developing I did do online marketing.

I’ve coded before vibe-coding.

jwpapi··on SlopCodeBench 10/2026 – Opus 5.5, Astra wins overall, xhigh considered harmful
Very interesting. If I’m honest with myself it could be very much a reality that I would be better off in only using for medium effor size tasked instead of trying to "offload" the necessary architecture thinking to "high" or even more.

They are good for inspiration though, but maybe I rather let me build a demo and then tell a medium model what I want from it.

jwpapi··on There's never been a better time to go into math (by: 3blue1brown) [video]
Whilst I agree it’s not conclusive to assume that just bc something happened the way it did in the past it will happen again. I think there’s still 'reason to believe'.

My answer to your job is that more jobs move from secondary to tertiary sector (entertainment). That has happened usually.

jwpapi··on There's never been a better time to go into math (by: 3blue1brown) [video]
I mean if you read some history it’s not the first time complete workforces have been replaced. It doesn’t mean the same jobs stay, but usually there will be something to do.
jwpapi··on How the Claude Code team does code review
What I’m more worried about is feature identification and how to monitor them. How can you get the product to the next level?

Honestly I’m not worried about code anymore in my codebase I’ve not had bug problems for a while and incidents get fixed automatically.

I monitor new features with an agent who checks recordings.

Most actually good features need still 20-30 iterations to design the userflow to actually be interactive, but then there is also another challenge to translate usage patterns into features and how to present functionality with the least amount of friction as possible.

How to efficiently run monitors without wasting your token spends. A best 'monitor' best practice would be nice.

Still this article was very helpful and gave me a lot of new ideas.

jwpapi··on Jev meets the Trolley Problem
Idk Jev doesn’t seem like a thinking model and more like a semantic matching.
jwpapi··on We’re releasing Jev 1.14.0 along with experimental features for dreamers
Or they use it as marketing wording to get liked by devs.., which is most likely given we know that’s typesafes usp
jwpapi··on Redesigning source control at Anthropic
I mean i’m solodeving and on my github 30 commits a day is light green. Record probably was 280/day, but I’m not sure if every commit is merge to them. or if they just count PRs
jwpapi··on Redesigning source control at Anthropic
I think they’re over reading code, but this almost sounds like they dont even read features/changes anymore. In theory I can imagine it. You have an agent to optimize a certain feature, you have an agent to clean up, you have an agent to develop a support strategy and so on.

They all would analyze data and suggest apple changes themselves.

Do you guys think that’s how it works? Is anybody already operating at that scale, how do you even validate stuff.

Like I think I could run my whole software now only on agents, but not sure how it would turn out.
