kayart_dev··on iOS allows alternative browser engines in Japan
Although I partially agree with you, Firefox on Android is a wonderful mobile browser (with some weird stuff though). I would love to have the same Firefox on my iOS but it's currently just impossible.
kayart_dev··on VS Code deactivates IntelliCode in favor of the paid Copilot
Unfortunately, people often resist change and prefer to stick with what they know. Maybe a small percentage of people will look for alternatives but it'd be a drop in the ocean.

kayart_dev··on Collabora Online Desktop Released with Improved UI from LibreOffice

kayart_dev··on LinkedIn is loud, and corporate is hell
I agree. If you follow people that are really interesting to you and if you don’t just connect with anyone who tries to connect with you, your feed can be pretty good. Sometimes LinkedIn reminds me of the good old days when everyone had a Twitter account and people could discuss there their work and other related stuff without too much politics involved
kayart_dev··on Microsoft doesn't understand the dislike for Windows' new direction
Zorin OS developers already announced a huge spike of new downloads: https://www.techradar.com/computing/windows/this-linux-os-ha...

I believe many similar beginner-friendly projects like Mint or Fedora see the same trends on their end

With SteamOS and other related projects like Wine and Proton getting more support and attention, I hope more and more developers will start caring about making their apps support Linux out of the box

kayart_dev··on Wrapping my head around AI wrappers
It’s hard to count how many ffmpeg wrappers are there
kayart_dev··on Microsoft AI CEO pushes back against critics after recent Windows AI backlash
Microsoft has been pushing AI features into both VS Code and GitHub for quite some time
kayart_dev··on Google Antigravity
On the contrary, I am glad that the Sublime team did not fall for the trends and avoided adding AI slop into the editor
kayart_dev··on New in Firefox: Visual search powered by Google Lens
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/search_by_ima... is even better in my opinion, it supports multiple image search engines at the same time
