Incredible
kbigdelysh··on Show HN: DOOM in the kernel, or fibers in eBPF
Actually, I think you did the right thing to use AI to write the article. As far as it's a clear and interesting story I don't care how or who wrote it.
kbigdelysh··on Waymo's driverless cars crash less often than people
You can say the same for most of the technology progress. For example, self-propelled combine harvesters caused mass migration of Americans in 1940s from rural areas to cities because they were out of job. With your logic, it should have not happened.

The better approach is to ask government to come up with a solutions that does not involve limiting science and tech.

kbigdelysh··on Sleep regularity is a stronger predictor of mortality risk than sleep duration (2023)
Long-term use of high dosage (5-10 mg) of melatonin gave me painful stiff neck and shoulders and muscle spasm.
kbigdelysh··on A web page that shows you everything the browser told it without asking
So if they can figure out whether I have an expensive laptop/computer based on my graphic card, then they can adjust the prices I see on the page (e.g.higher prices for game devs/players and lower prices for plumbers). Not fair.
kbigdelysh··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026)

kbigdelysh··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026)
What would happen to the service when you've died? How long after you've died, it stop working? That's the real problem with it.

If your app, pays for its own costs, it can live long after you've gone. You may have to use dApps (Decentralized Applications) on blockchains.

kbigdelysh··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026)
Great but I wish after I typed a page or paragraph, it tells me what is the main issues in my typing and give me recommendation/practice to type those problematic characters I'm not good at. You may call it typing doctor feature or something like that.
kbigdelysh··on Show HN: Run 100 RAG experiments in parallel, even on a single GPU
Author here, happy to answer any questions about the architecture, how the scheduling works, or anything else. Fire away!
kbigdelysh··on Show HN: RapidFire AI – parallel RAG experimentation with live run intervention
Happy to answer questions about the IC Ops design, the scheduling algorithm, or how the online aggregation works. We use a fair-share shard scheduler inspired by how databases handle multi-tenant query execution.
kbigdelysh··on Trump administration halts Harvard's ability to enroll international students
You're very wrong if you think harvard accepts children of dictators and monarchies for its graduate programs. It's near impossible to get into those program except if you are a genius (exceptionally high GPA and GRE grades, published valuable scientific papers in prestigious journals). Just check the graduate student's directory to see what I mean.
kbigdelysh··on Trump wins presidency for second time
I'm Canadian and living in California. I want Universal Healthcare.
kbigdelysh··on Fast Crimes at Lambda School
I was one of the coding instructors at Make School which was similar to Lambda School and was bankrupt couple years ago. Our major issue? It was damn hard to find enough students for our school who were talented enough to understand computer science and had enough grit to finish the program and get a job. Why? Because those students were already absorbed by the established traditional universities.
kbigdelysh··on Disrupting deceptive uses of AI by covert influence operations
Based on the Reuters article, The Israeli company STOIC put many ai-generated comments on social media posed from Jewish, African Americans and concerned citizens praising Israel's handling of the war in Gaza.
kbigdelysh··on AI-powered church service in Germany draws a large crowd
Attracting people to religion is a wrong use of AI.
kbigdelysh··on Anxiety can be created by the body, mouse heart study suggests
Medical students have been using propranolol (heart beat rate reducer) to calm down they exam anxiety since half a century ago. I used it during my exams too. Very effective, quick and safe. The same goes for atenolol and other beta blockers.
kbigdelysh··on Ask HN: Will you be paying for ChatGPT+?
Definitely. It's increased my productivity more than all of those vitamins and brain-enhancer supplements and meditations (I'm a programmer).
kbigdelysh··on “Please be our voice” - Message from students at Sharif University of Technology
I wonder what can be done. Will the situation be better If western countries start sending weapons to opposition and Iran becomes like Syria? I personally would love to see the Islamic government get abolished and replaced by a democratic freedom-loving liberal government. However the plans in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria didn't go well to this day.
kbigdelysh··on “Science must respect the dignity and rights of all humans”
"Satoshi Kanazawa suggested that evolution favors higher IQ in areas that are farther from the evolutionary origin of humans: sub-Saharan Africa." This sentence from Scientific American (which itself got it from a peer-reviewed paper) 'seems' racist. The publisher could reject it by saying this study can be used against sub-Saharan African. I don't know that relationship is valid or not but even if it's valid, scientist could not publish it.
kbigdelysh··on Ask HN: What is a sustainable methodology for taking notes of your learning?
I use OneNote for note-taking and repetico to memorize important things.

I also use OneNote as a temporary place for holding relevant information (screenshots, text or pdf printouts) about a bug or a feature I'm developing.

kbigdelysh··on EU approves legislation to regulate Apple, Google, Meta, and other tech firms
I hope this does not lead to corruption among EU policy makers. When regulators start adding regulations in a sector, big corps in that sector start spending more money for lobbing; hence more corruption among policy makers.
kbigdelysh··on Ask HN: Where should I live?
Vancouver is not too cold in Winter but you get lots of rain. It has great public transport too. It's very expensive though.
kbigdelysh··on Mechanical Typewriter to Escape from Distractions?
Deep Work by a Browserless Raspberry Pi.
