Not having any luck but once she falls asleep at night and I cannot, I have to do something and I have tokens begging to be used ;)
The dog cancer thing got me excited and there may still be things to explore there but I get two conflicting opinions down that path - it is too late, since she is full obstruction there is no coming back from this spiral; and it is too early since there are still drugs that have a small chance of slowing or pulling things back some.
We went through enhertu which worked for about 3.5 months and relieved the blockage and she was able to eat again and get off IV nutrition. It obstructed again and her markers rose sharply in the summer, we did a course of taxol and are moving to trodelvy next week.
All of this has been entirely predictable, standard of care patterns.
But the standard of care for my wifes disease right now is a march toward death and I refuse to accept that.
I spend my every evening talking to every LLM, practically bargaining and begging for one of them to give me a thread of hope.
I appreciate this service and we will check it out. We are desperate to find something, I recognize ILC is tricky and complete obstruction is usually a death sentence, but we have to try right? She is 49, we have 4 kids.
Anyone out there, any ideas...any longshot, we will do anything.
Started taking T via a gel/lotion and after about two weeks I noticed a significant change in my productivity. The rut/fog was gone, I was working like I did 15 years ago.
Prescription ran out, was out of town, basically missed 10 days. Fog was back, a week on it again and it is gone.
Moral of the story, don't try to "will" your way out - see a doc, make sure everything is working right.
Fern Creek is a software consulting company. We build stuff for other people, usually in .NET on Azure but we do other stuff occasionally. The company has been around since I started consulting independently about 22 years ago.
We also have a SaaS product in the automotive racing space that does over 7 figures annually - and that is our little side project while we consult for other clients.
This is not super sexy stuff where you will get options that might be worth millions, but likely worth nothing. What you will get is a load of experience on new tech (asp.net core, azure, blazor etc) and a great focus on the best feature of all...shipping.
The job is remote so you don't have to be in Louisville Kentucky (where we are 'located') though if you are close that is cool.
Set your own hours and all that, I want pros not people that need babysitting.
Multiple openings right now as we are growing fast...
-BI/Data Warehouse/SQL Server specialist
-Desktop dev (WPF experience required)
-Full stack Web dev (asp.net core would be great, but any tech stack experience is fine)
Live the stress free life, work from home, build some cool

Few points…
Word of mouth is best advertising.
Prove yourself trustworthy and honorable, there are still assholes who will try to take advantage of you but on balance, this will pay off over time.
Don’t work for free. If companies want you to work because it will look good for referrals or something- run.
Don’t work for equity or revenue shares without some cash as part of the deal. Cash is skin in the game, it makes everyone act differently.
Treat your team better than you wish you were treated - they are your most important relationships.
Be willing to fire clients.
Fancy contracts are a waste of time, if you ever get to the point after work has begun that you are talking about wording in a contract - you already lost.
Lastly…learn to delegate, I spent way too much time doing too much of the work myself- sharing the load is a superpower.
OP or anyone else thinking of doing this, feel free to reach out for a longer chat on the topic.

The company has been around since I started consulting independently about 20 years ago. Recently I started taking on larger projects that need more people and as a result, started hiring people. Sometimes a 1099, sometimes W2.

We want to grow more and have a solid cadre of people we can use to attack challenging projects, but we are also somewhat picky about what we take on.
So...that is where you come in...if you have what it takes to perform in a business development/sales role. Write your own ticket, tell us how you could change the growth pattern of our company and what you would want in exchange.

Fern Creek Software is in need of multiple developers with various disciplines. Most of what we do is C# but that is honestly not a big requirement for us as most smart developers can pick up another language pretty easy.
We are consultants so we do work for other companies, usually SaaS companies.
Our teams are small, usually less than 7 people and we try to make sure and keep developers writing code instead of stuck in meetings.
This is a job where you will constantly be solving challenging technical problems, working with and learning from other really smart developers and using the latest tech stacks.
I need people who are self starters, can stay focused and can work independently, we are not setup for lots of overhead. We have no project managers or anything like that.

SaaS company, profitable, privately owned and a major player in the benefits management industry. We are undergoing a major transformation as we are rewriting our core tech stack and systems.
We need help. We need a serious IT Operations engineer to handle our infrastructure both in Azure and on-premise in our Nashville location as we make our migration to be fully in the public cloud.
This person will be responsible for ensuring all the systems are up and running at all times, which not only includes the applications but our office systems such as phone and internet. You will be supporting the systems that enable a multi hundred person call center and remote workforce. Given the nature of what we do, a good security focused mindset is key.
We would love someone with experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, release management and other disciplines key to our future. That is a bonus, but not absolutely required.
We are not a pie in the sky startup with dreams of maybe getting lucky. We are a serious, established player with exceptional leadership and a clear plan we are executing for considerable growth over the coming years.
