knipknap··on Ask HN: Who's looking for a co-founder?
Oh, sorry, I didn't see your response until today. I am actually not looking for a cofounder right now. I just misunderstood the submitters question, thinking he was looking for inspiration in what to look for in a co-founder.
knipknap··on Ask HN: Who's looking for a co-founder?
I'd be looking for

- General intelligence - Enough passion to work long hours - Good at what I'm not. (I can build a product, he/she could have a marketing background or something. Obviously we'd still both be working on both.)

knipknap··on Infinitely Beta has launched paisa.com - uses Clojure and Python
I think you could make it clearer as to what the site is about. "Stop guessing, make informed decisions" - how are you going to help me do that? Is it just another way to look at charts? Can you explain why it is better than Google Charts, or Yahoo?

I would also worry about reliability and how up to date the data is. A page that addresses such concerns would be one of the first things I am looking for.

knipknap··on Building muscle doesn't require lifting heavy weights
15 people seems like a rather small sample size, but still... looking through the study I don't see any obvious problems with it. Good to know if I ever get any pain in my joints.
knipknap··on Well paid jobs that require you to be physically active?
You mean there is no physical activity that directly builds on top of a software engineering education? Yeah, I guess it was a stretch.

But I actually think that there might be a middle ground that involves sports and engineering. Perhaps a product or service and a reason to jump on the startup train.

knipknap··on Well paid jobs that require you to be physically active?
Quite possibly true. Unless it builds on things I already know.
knipknap··on Well paid jobs that require you to be physically active?
That made me smile because an extended leave is exactly what I tried in May/June, going on a bike trip across Europe. Unfortunately it didn't rekindle my love for my job.
knipknap··on Well paid jobs that require you to be physically active?
That sounds very cool, but probably requires multiple years of training (with little income).
knipknap··on Well paid jobs that require you to be physically active?
Acting is definitely not for me and I am not good looking enough for modelling. Personal trainer is actually a very good idea, and sports medicine has always been one of my interests. I am sceptical that this makes sense financially, but it sounds like a job that can be started gradually without needing to make a hard cut from my current job. Interesting, I will think about it more.
knipknap··on Ask HN: How to get important people to talk to me?
"How to make friends and influence people" should be mandatory literature for everybody who interacts with people as part of his job.
knipknap··on Ask HN: "Rockstar" job listings, yay or nay?
If you are shooting for the kind of people who aspire to be rockstars (i.e. teenagers, mostly?), why not?
knipknap··on Ask HN: iPad web app ideas?
How about a usable recipe-database, diet tracker, fitness tracker, ...

I am serious. I know that there are tons of those, but it always strikes me how even the most basic/obvious apps still suck usability and design-wise. I believe that somebody who's good at designing easy UIs could easily outinnovate these and take some pretty good markets. And one of these days, I will.

knipknap··on A better mobile version of HN. Please review my weekend project
Cool, but doesn't look much different than a simple feed in google reader really.
knipknap··on Ask HN: If you were to learn a programming language for your first time
Python thirded. Then, perhaps C# ("C++ without the headaches") - it has most of the concepts and none of the really hard parts.
