Please, allow me to express the following opinion without reprise and then I am finished: He should have been taken alive at all costs. I think my kids would have been safer if we had.

This mentality is purely what makes man appear so primitive in his nature and is exactly what got us into this mess in the first place.

Bin Laden: On the list of countries the planet is better off without, the US is close to the top.

Specifically: "...justice has been done". American military and C.I.A. operatives had ...shot him to death.

Obama: "I authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice."

Obama: "His demise should be welcome by all who believe in peace and human dignity."

Is that how we conduct justice now? I am not satisfied by this outcome. I would rather have had him in custody showing we hold the higher ground when it pertains to morality and justice. Its no surprise to me now that our morality and judgment is an illusion which I thought, ever since I was a kid, was what made America great. The fact that Obama plays off people's emotions in his speech to gain support for this outcome is purely disgusting.

And lastly, you believe this because the media and Obama says its so?

One way to learn good software design is to look at other peoples code who are good at what they do. For me those people are John Resig, Douglas Crockford, etc.

To use BING because its not something else (Because It's Not Google) makes my anti-anti self kick in and makes me not want to use it for the simple fact I'm not 12 years old anymore. MS needs to grow up and just release good groundbreaking innovative products like they've done for the development world.

Let me put it to you in these terms. Unlike you I did spend 6 months alone working an additional 4-5 hour/days on top of 8 at work day job, and about 8 more on the weekend. So lets say thats 30hrs/week * 50/hr (just an estimate...I actually charge over $80 at my day job)...but just for argument sake I've invested in time and effort 6mo * 4wks * 30hrs/wk * $50/hr = $36,000. So just in time alone that how much I've invested. Now why would I want to just give that away to someone who sat on the sideline and waited until it was a good enough idea to just jump in when the product is almost complete?

I like what you said exploratory programming because with a new cofounder I can sit down and say, "look this is what I've found will work, this needs help, this needs someone to just start outright, and do you have any ideas how the hell to make this work." Thanks for replying...I'm glad you did.

I've been working on a project now for almost 5 months. I've been more free to discuss my project lately because I think to myself that most are not going to be as motivated as I've been nor are they going to sacrifice the long hours and weekends I've poured into it.

I commend the creator of Pageflakes...if you read this guy's blog or articles the guy practically hands it to you on a plate...yet I haven't seen many take advantage of it. Except maybe Yahoo :).

I also believe that if your passionate about your idea you don't want it contaminated with others ideas and views. Now, this definitely plays a role in the future phases, but in the beginning you want to create your own idea...not someone elses. We all want the credit, so we keep it under wraps until the time is right.
