ldavison··on How I bypassed Amazon's Kindle web DRM
The DRM free books they sell work just fine. Ones with DRM must currently be read using their mobile or web apps. Their FAQ mentions their plans to support Kobo in the future.

ldavison··on Docker Desktop no longer free for large companies
I was able to get podman setup in WSL2 pretty easily following this:

ldavison··on Freenode ops take control of 700 channels
With so much drama on I-R-C, Freenode is now trash thanks to L-E-E
ldavison··on Apple has threatened to ban Parler from the App Store
Technically speaking, it would be domestic terrorism. As citizens they should be afforded due process rights.

One could argue "terrorists" as you're defining re Gitmo should as well, but that's a different topic.

ldavison··on Google disabled my husband's account
This is nice, thanks for pointing it out. It's a shame though you can't export to something like S3.
ldavison··on Sampler for Mac Touchbars
For me it's not Vim (remapped caps lock to ESC, plus newer MBPs have a physical ESC key again), it's JetBrains.

The number of frequent operations that use F-keys makes the touch bar a truly frustrating experience.

I switched to a Matias keyboard to avoid the touch bar. An added benefit is their placement of the fn key, which is really nice if you use various OSes.

ldavison··on The more senior your job title, the more you need to keep a journal (2017)
I use https://github.com/gitwatch/gitwatch to do this.

I'm curious if there is something you are using on mobile for vimwiki? I've been using termux on Android, which works well enough.

ldavison··on “This is why I use ad blockers and a pi-hole server”
Which are mainly going to be owned by AWS, GCP, Azure, DO, or CloudFlare
ldavison··on How to fight back against Google AMP as a web user and a web developer
I have been using the "Redirect AMP to HTML" extension:

ldavison··on GitHub for Mobile
Agreed. The closest I've found is using:

https://github.com/pulls?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Apr+is%3Aopen+...

I just add "-repo:org/repo-name" for the repos in my org I want removed from the results. Plus, it tells me what I need to review.

As long as you don't open email notifications about PR activity this page will show a blue indicator so you know which ones have been updated since you last viewed them.

ldavison··on Stack Overflow lets Facebook track users across their sites
They should. I use the Fanboy Anti-Facebook list (https://www.fanboy.co.nz/) and the avatars from FB on SO don't load for me.
ldavison··on React Native at Airbnb
This was recently making the rounds, I suspect this is what OP was referring to:

ldavison··on Onedrive is slow on Linux but fast with a “Windows” user-agent (2016)
Try https://meet.google.com in any browser other than Chrome and you'll get a message saying your browser isn't supported.

If you setup Firefox to use a newer version of Chrome user agent, the page will at least load. Seems like they are using user agent instead of feature detection to limit usage.
