le_curious··on Ask HN: Can I tell my managers to skip the corporate bs and get to the point?
Quit and start your own company instead. Or join someone who has.

I don't know your whole story.

But when you hit that point, at a certain limit, the only option that remains is to start your own company and leave all the drama behind.

Good luck!

That sounds really annoying. Thanks for explaining! I'm looking to launch one of my new little products and my last one got hammered by bots.

Thankfully they were not really malicious like some of the other folks have experienced, but it was still frustrating.

Why did you serve it from DigitalOcean?

Why not a CDN?

What are you working on? Thanks for responding!

Thanks. Can you give some examples? I appreciate it, but it is quite vague so I am curious about what you think is left to create.

As I mentioned to someone else, I enjoy building multiplayer systems and recently with AI I've been enjoying building apps with nice UIs. I found some design theory books which have been quite interesting...

le_curious··on Secret of Orange Cats Revealed After 60-Year Search
So did my orange. He learned to open doors so he can maybe get some food.

He doesn't play with any of the cat toys (our other cat loves those and begs to play), is barely active and only runs (his whole belly jiggles side-to-side when he's running) after his dental treats which we throw so he can get some exercise.

He's an odd ball for sure. Goofy, loving. A little chubby, but the vet says it is probably fine considering his laziness and he is healthy otherwise (knock-wood).

I LOVE MY ORANGE CAT LOL

le_curious··on Ask HN: Pre-AI, did you think harder? Or are you thinking more (and better) now?
I would say that I think more "graphically" now. I would not necessarily say I think harder, but rather with less total cognitive load by thinking ahead.

What do I mean?

When I think about problems now, I still use first principles thinking. Then, I begin with a spatial map of ideas and concepts. How are these things related? Are there any patterns or gaps?

Before AI agents, I didn't have to think in terms of steps.

With AI agents, I can have them tackle each part of the graph simultaneously to arrive at a deliverable. Faster, and with more predictability.

le_curious··on Ask HN: What to Build in the AI Era?
I enjoy building real time multiplayer systems.

The issue is that I just turn to ChatGPT, Muse, or some other AI app and it just does it for me.

Most of my issues, such as keeping a running task list, managing my groceries list or pantry inventory, and even fun/leisure things are handled by these apps.
