Direct File won’t happen in 2026, Intuit TurboTax tells states[1]

There, fixed that for you.

I just can't see how companies such as Adafruit and Sparkfun are going to stay in business at this point. A lot of small businesses are going to get legit killed because of this stupid and avoidable trade war.

Perhaps it's by design if you read a chapter on Project 2025 on killing small businesses.

Not surprised that Intuit lobbied hard to kill Direct File as well:

There's a SCOTUS case in FSC v. Paxton that could very well decide if age verification is enforced in the US as well so sadly this is just the beginning.

Indeed, I'm sure there's a LOT of people, especially in the HN space are pro-fascist.

Yep, it's blatant censorship and the admins/mods are still refusing to admit it.

It's censorship plain and simple.

And the admins/mods are still refusing to admit it.

Yes it is worth it, and most of it is still relevant today.

Indeed, something that we sadly lack today. We need people like Mark more than ever, not less.

That could still happen.

I would watch their development closely considering to me, they'll likely leave K-9 Mail in the dust once Thunderbird on Android gets completely stable. It would be a sad end to one of the only true open source email apps left and with him gone, they can initiate it if they want to.

Exactly, and sadly it's only the beginning as a whole lot of industries will do the same.

It is now, which is disgraceful.

Today is a very good time to file a tax return filing extension (aka Form 4068) giving the likely compromising of our taxpayer data and it's also a very good time to contact your state Attorney General and your members of Congress on this ongoing crisis.

One of many states as I suspect more will follow suit.

Take Montana[1] for instance as they're likely will ban vaccines very soon.

Not to mention that so many posts that people share got shut down and censored by the mods and admins after users flag it to death.

They don't want to admit it but the truth is that they're all in to the current coup that's happening in Washington right now. That's turning into a fact every single day now.

Exactly. HN and YC as a whole are all in on this administration and the coup. It's the reason why important pieces such as this are keep going to get buried and censored because they and most of the community at large can't handle the truth.

It's sad really.

I think you and I know why at this point. HN and YC as a whole are all in on this administration[1]. It's the reason why it's going to get censored.

Yep, I'm totally not surprised on this.

I expect even more censorship on this site for the next few years (especially criticism) as even the mods and higher ups are kneeling down on this administration just a few hours into it.

Not a good look.
