lexoj··on Herdr has released native app
Actually I haven’t used the tailscale stuff. I just ask my agent “to use rex” and it maintains my services and restarts them accordingly
lexoj··on Herdr has released native app
How does it compare to Rex? (I use Rex but haven’t tried herdr so cant compare yet)
lexoj··on Ghostty 1.4
Or Rex ;)
lexoj··on Ghostty 1.4
My main issues with ghostty: the global shortcut for quick window suddenly stops working and works again only if I focus ghostty. (On a mac)

The other one is quick window goes out of the monitor if i have disconnected and connected the laptop from minitor.

Another: sometimes autocomplete suggestions are shown incorrectly in some weird location (like middle of the screen, not at the cursor), again occasionally.

lexoj··on Anthropic S-1
You could invest in a tech index which will include by default new big tech players
lexoj··on Cloudflare deploys protections against php2shell vulnerability
After so many security issues, it’s kinda obvious to me that the present/future will need more security experts, or time invested in cybersecurity.
lexoj··on Delays for Pull Requests and Webhook deliveries
Time to push straight to master then
lexoj··on PHP 8.2.35
While the fix was not published I genuinely thought a quick service rewrite to some other stack (say Go) would make sense as a fix. (Assuming high integration test coverage )
lexoj··on Muse Wonder
Reminded me of when George Hotz said only Zuck has “the button”. [0]

lexoj··on Programming Isn't Special
A problem though can have 100 different kind of solutions (say using lambdas, kubernetes microservices, monolithic etc etc) - so there’s a lot of creativity in place. My favourite - of course - is solving problems that one can entirely avoid solving (via out of box thinking etc)
lexoj··on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27
My iPad 2021 10.2" was flawless but some weeks ago it was updated to iOS26 by mistake and it became so slow on basic stuff (like showing the keyboard). Made me terrified of doing any upgrades
lexoj··on Ask HN: GitHub employees what's going on? Why?
Also the fact that its written in Ruby on Rails probably doesn’t make it easier, performance wise.
lexoj··on Everyone talks about AI agents. This is what one looks from the inside
Similarly, I've created a simple Pi extension [1] that allows you to summon your LLMs inline from your notes (obsidian or any text format) and it's able to apply any edits (via Pi edit tools)

lexoj··on Does creatine make you smarter?
For me, whenever I took creatine I got headaches. (I drank enough water, and I could reproduce the issue everytime I tried it, so stopped it as it felt wrong)
lexoj··on The bottleneck might be the air in the room
I remember some years ago after coming from work at 6 pm I was dead tired at home thinking it was due to hard work during the day. Then one summer day decided to code side projects on my balcony and I was building until midnight full of energy.
lexoj··on Ask HN: Is anyone experimenting with different ways of using LLMs for coding?
I created a small PI extension that always watches relevant directories and answers me in place, without switching context, or using a chat interface. Still experimenting but I like it.

lexoj··on Leanstral 1.5
I used them because they had the fastest chat response. (Dont think that’s the case anymore, and they introduced some UI blocking feature on load which is irritating, but still use it mainly due to habit)
lexoj··on Gmail thinks I'm stupid, so I left
That chat history dark pattern is the main reason I never use Gemini. Its a shame.
lexoj··on Search engines alternatives now that Google isn't Google anymore
Is it me or the mentions of Kagi on HN are overly positive?
lexoj··on Ruby for Good
Not sure about the compiler but prominent users of llm agents (Mitchel Hashimoto, Armin Ronacher etc) has mentioned that Go gives better results for agentic coding.
lexoj··on Cisco workforce reductions
This type of corporate behaviour should be highlighted as unacceptable. I’ll personally steer away from anything cisco from now on.
lexoj··on A recent experience with ChatGPT 5.5 Pro
Not free in my country, didn’t know YouTube was broadcasting full movies in certain regions as you imply.
lexoj··on Zed 1.0
I want to use Zed but last time I tried it was spawning node processes, i guess for lsp. (I develop in Go)
lexoj··on Laravel raised money and now injects ads directly into your agent
I don’t do laravel but which bad practices are you referring to?
lexoj··on The Last Quiet Thing
I’ve disabled all activity notifications. It actually helps me avoid the phone on other type of notifications.
lexoj··on Wired headphone sales are exploding
They are much much lighter due to lack of batteries which makes them quite ergonomic.
lexoj··on The death of social media is the renaissance of RSS (2025)
Self plug: I use matcha[0] which produces markdowns which with icloud (or any other file sync service) automatically sync cross devices.

lexoj··on I'm not worried about AI job loss
But the llm could still take ownership of that and ask clarifications, reach stakeholders while taking notes, and so on.
lexoj··on Using an engineering notebook
Top of the file or end?
lexoj··on A macOS app that blurs your screen when you slouch
As my doctor used to say: the best posture is the next one.
