lob_it··on EU agrees to climate damage fund, energizing bogged-down COP27 talks
They didn't figure out that careless methane emissions caused an accelerated warming cycle that caused tundra melts in the arctic to release stored carbon into the atmosphere in 2022 using 1st world science. It already happened and explains the increase in temperatures clearly.

They'll be chasing their tail in that comedy skit for another 27 years due to lack of purpose. They did all of that in crayon.

The data for that cycle has been available since the turn of the century :p

The fake emotions are hilarious and the fake math to solve illiteracy is just a waste of time :)

Willful ignorance is their problem.

They can only spew healff, growff and maff due to their inferior language

lob_it··on Show HN: Cartwright – Automating detection of geographic and temporal features
We already know why it happened. No amount of compute can answer the obvious.

Its easy to adapt using basic science :)

No word yet on the offset the nord stream blowout caused, in addition to the tundra melts that occured <air quotes> naturally </air quotes>.

It was polite joke about pushing up tulips :p

Notice how I didn't say disemboweled with entrails all over the place with all of the fud being distributed about crypto ponzis/vaporware.

Literacy is fun the mental in your case :p

Yay! When they add the datasets for tundra melting and unaccounted methane emissions, deep-learning can finally figure it out with quality datasets :|

2=1+1 in 2022 :)

Thanks data!

lob_it··on Magnitude 5.4 earthquake in western Texas
The 21st century has so many options, even in a changing environment.

Japan has their styrofoam homes that answers earthquake damage prevention designs outside of pagoda architecture:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FxcIWmKlBiw

And the "Lift House" architecture makes a lot of sense in flood prone areas using simple bamboo techniques:

https://www.prosunarchitects.com/lifthouse

Its not too far of a stretch to see how these two technologies compliment each other.

New construction has a lot of innovation to enjoy :)

lob_it··on Why Office Buildings Are Still in Trouble
Location, location, location has evolved to too much overhead, not enough innovation, factory farming density diseases.

Even reading, writing and "rhythmatic" has devolved into illiteracy, picture story fiction and fabricated inferior integers in some cultures.

"Know child left behind" I believe they called it in a terse language, not to be confused with broken english (fake emotions about nothing) :p

lob_it··on Banks and hospitals are cashing in when patients can't pay for health care
Life expectancy is a personal goal and akin to the DNA lottery. You can't win if you don't play :)

"Just because all of the other kids do it" is more relevant today than ever :p

Edit: I didn't make the stats :)

lob_it··on Seven Levels of Busy
Technology added the phrases "set it and forget it" and "one and done".

Analog (some) can chase their tail and consider that busy while innovation is onto the next goal.

lob_it··on Crypto dominoes fall in the wake of FTX's collapse
They are just pushing up the price of tulips. Thats all :p

Did they even get a moment of silence?

Vaporware has a way of eviscerating

They do indicate that upwards of 70% of the population are on prescription meds.

You don't go there for health

Wealth breeds health :)

lob_it··on AI found a bug in my code
Is that just an algorithm with defined ranges?

It has to use/learn data within a defined scope, so even with dozens of algos, they are all well within defined ranges of variables.

Still within reason to be called well written software that performs the tasks that it was designed to accomplish.

lob_it··on Magnitude 5.4 earthquake in western Texas
It looks like 3D printed homes with various materials are an option nowadays compared to old fashioned dirt huts.

I was surpised to not see more homes on stilts on a visit to Texas this year, where my gps showed an altitude of -20ft in eastern Texas.

lob_it··on Elon Musk rehires Ligma and Johnson, who never worked there
Ligma Johnson & Musk sounds like a Dewey Cheatham & Howe, Moe Larry & Curly, Huey Dewy & Louie or Alvin Simon & Theodore parody in the making

It'll be interesting to see if this was another fracking induced event.

lob_it··on Tech Talent Now?
Is there really any specific "one size fits all" problem to even utilize the skills?

Climate is different everywhere. The color palette in different regions are more than just latitude. Dry, wet, hot, cold.... It depends.

Cultures are different. I doubt the same page exists for many cultures. "Been there, done that" is a loaded philosophy in the 21st century.

Customs are different everywhere. Kinda makes you want to high-five everybody in the middle east with your left hand and give a thumbs up to every aussie you meet.

Lifestyle is different. Just using longevity as an example is what makes mediterranean diets and certain asian lifestyles unique among a crowd.

Perspective is usually a combination of each, so "one size fits all" is usually a watered down concept.

With the age of compute in full swing, the fabricated numbers from decades prior lets you know some generations do it differently as well.

lob_it··on FTX's collapse strands scientists
The innovation has been so good, I got to skip most of the fiction entertainment outlets.

I would suck at pop culture trivia :)

lob_it··on Infosys leaked FullAdminAccess AWS keys on PyPI for over a year
Oh gosh... TCP/IP is a resilient protocol and would route around any countr(y/ies) opting for modern standards. The world would continue to spin.

I didn't say "puppy mill" regarding infosys... So.... Its just another puppy mill :)

I just got free crypto from a timeshare promotion on oceanfront property in Arizona... FOMO is not my problem :|

As an aside, this post from 2008 does point to all of the carbon being released from the 1st meter of soil/permafrost, which has probably since melted.

lob_it··on Chinese chain-smoking marathon runner completes 26 miles in less than 3.5 hours
The guy already finished the marathon... He didn't have to run with his mouth either :p

I'll always work on my golf swing rather than fake emotions about nothing :)

lob_it··on Chinese chain-smoking marathon runner completes 26 miles in less than 3.5 hours
You could be concerned with your own goals... Or just pass judgement to feed your frail ego... The choice is yours alone :)
lob_it··on Chinese chain-smoking marathon runner completes 26 miles in less than 3.5 hours
Its obviously for his personal enjoyment and most likely achieving a personal goal without having to be concerned with anyone elses goals.

Do you look at a 400 lb to 600 lb pound person and wonder what could have been also?

If someone says something is impossible, that just means that they cannot do it personally...

This is impossible :)

lob_it··on Overhyping hydrogen as a fuel
Underhyping methane emissions already makes junk sciences irony someone elses problem. You'll get high blood pressure if you take a grain of salt with everything they spew :p

Hydrogen scaled is what makes diversification so much fun in the 21st century. Scale up or scale down?

If we look at the excess energy generation with solar when batteries are full, that excess can be converted to hydrogen production with very little additional cost.

On a timeline, it may take a few months to stockpile enough hydrogen to install new hydrogen powered equipment to take advantage of it, but nobody has hyped what to do with excess solar power production.

Wind turbines have their dump load too. Same concept with after a few months of stockpiling hydrogen with excess power generation, a usable amount of hydrogen becomes available.

We expect most renewables such as solar and wind to produce for decades. All of that excess solves a lot of the energy equation.

Hydrogen scales perfectly with some applications outside of metropolitan areas. They indicated that it was only $8 million for this project. That ROI happens fast.

Hype is not sustainable :)

lob_it··on Rules for Making Money from P.T. Barnum
In 2022 phrasing, it probably means do not get strung along by consultants leading you on a leash. Be your own domain expert if/when possible.

I've been laughing at Buffetts investing 101 advice too about buying soda and dialysis stocks. Theres an estimate of about 60%-70% overweight/obesity ratios from the american heart association with upwards of 70% of the population on prescription medications in a mayo clinic study. It answered a lot of questions that I will never have. It is money though....

Don't invest in someone elses bad day. The innovation is so much better with quality data :)

lob_it··on Amazon Robotics researchers are solving a “beautiful problem”
Interesting article and I cannot wait for dexterity ratings with the commodity robotics.

Wash/rinse/repeat is about as elementary as it gets.

ABC Australia ran a segment today showing a packing plant using a WRR design to pack avocados while discussing 24/7 operations (video is not posted on their YT or website yet), but was another interesing WRR robotic design.
