The only time I answer less than 10 for a CS person is if they’re actually rude or not trying to be helpful. I much prefer the surveys that ask multiple specific questions that split the interaction between the rep and the outcome.
Plus, while the UX of git is not intuitive, especially from SVN, if you want to bypass staging and just use it like SVN, you can "git commit -a". Like svn, if you have new, untracked files, you can "git add -A; git commit". This is also trivial to alias.
I've worked with a lot of really good managers who understand the role their group plays without having to delude themselves into thinking their team or function is primary. I think that's something that's really important regardless of the industry.
The most enjoyable jobs I've had have been those where there was good, self-aware management. While bad management is obviously a horrible time all-around, I've also had very bad experiences in the so called flat, self-managed models. For those to work, the greater majority of the team need to actually be self-aware, good (at least self) managers.
In this instance, stop whining is not advice, it's in response to people thinking that for their own narcissistic reasons, it's okay to jeapordize the safety of others. That includes the cars that park in bike lanes as well as the bicyclists who blow through stop signs.
I believe that we all share this earth and we should all act safely and responsibly. Yes, cars kill far more easily than bikes, but bikes can seriously injure or kill as well. Cars swerving out of the way of bikes also kill, which could have easily been the result of your encounter, had the SUV been swerving to avoid a bike.
You shouldn't be forced off the road. Pedestrians shouldn't step blindly into the road. Cars shouldn't drive erratically in populated areas. Bike can seriously injur or kill people, so just act responsibly.
It's not difficult to drive, ride, or walk safely. Just do it and stop whining.
