m132··on MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch
Please tell me the rounded corners at the bottom of the screen are just for the effect and they aren't actually physically like that. This would be worse than the current notch, you can even see them clipping the text in the LM Studio picture.
m132··on Korea raises data breach fines to 10% of revenue
Some hard to swallow pills for tech companies in 2026: data not collected in the first place cannot leak.
m132··on South Africa is at risk of becoming a mafia state
Well, sorry! Make the payment process and the website at least half as frictionless and private, and I'll be happy to pay!
m132··on South Africa is at risk of becoming a mafia state
And then you realize that, ironically, LLMs and archive.today, both actual bots, can scrape the site just fine. The latter also serving you the content with no paywalls, ads, JavaScript, permalinks that 404 after a year, and all the other anti-features. It's almost as if news websites looked at the pains one has to go through to legally play a video game in 2026 and all unanimously went "I want this!".
m132··on Show HN: Copperhead – Cursor for circuit boards
Fair. I wish low quality submissions received similar treatment to low quality comments, or at least had their own category, separate from the main page.
m132··on Show HN: Copperhead – Cursor for circuit boards
I'm sorry, but going on that website made me feel like I was being greeted by an AI support technician or recruiter.

I understand—these days, there are more reasons to vibe a landing page than not. To many, however, this page is going to be their first encounter with the project. While it sure is shallow to judge a book solely by its cover, in this case, the cover just blatantly screams "we haven't even tried"... Can you really blame people for not looking beyond it if even its own creator gave it a similar amount of attention? Especially in 2026, when everything preys on your attention and generating plausibly-looking low-effort projects has never been easier?

m132··on Iceland votes on whether to restart talks on joining EU
Iceland is already part of Schengen, EFTA, and NATO. They're in the best position there is, having negotiated the best the EU has to offer but not the bad parts, such as the Euro, Pfizer deals, the migration and asylum pact, or age verification. I can't imagine them joining the EU being anything but a massive downgrade for them.
m132··on Boot a Virtual iPhone via Apple's Virtualization.framework
Note that, unlike Corellium, this isn't about emulating an iPhone. Apple is providing an iOS kernel for Virtualization.framework in PCC/cloudOS images and this project pairs it with the iOS user-space and patches to make everything run. Applications can very easily tell it apart from the real thing.

m132··on AI;DR (AI; Didn't Read)
I like how some people take offence at that
m132··on Every fucking website: 2026 edition
It's not a Claude generated website without at least one `backdrop-filter: blur(1000px)` element that slows older machines to a crawl
m132··on Show HN: We Implemented the IPv8 Internet-Draft in Linux, Libc, and BGP
This. While I'm generally opposed to using LLMs to make changes in critical parts of systems, a vibed spec just naturally prompts a vibed implementation.
m132··on Run Android ARM64 VR APKs on Apple Vision Pro
I would appreciate an LLM usage disclosure
m132··on Anthropic CEO reportedly worried new hires only care about money
It's an industry where companies with "open" right in the name lobby against open models and training on stolen data is viewed as more ethical than training on existing models. It takes some time to catch up with reality there.
m132··on GitHub Actions and Pages are experiencing degraded availability

m132··on GitHub Actions and Pages are experiencing degraded availability
At this point maybe they should consider sending out announcements when it is working instead

m132··on CP/M-386 – CP/M for 386 protected mode, derived from CP/M‑68K
First project of this kind on here in a long while that isn't complete AI slop. Well done, really happy to see some people still doing this!
m132··on EU Age Verification Project Mandates Hardware-Bound Attestation
Of course they won't. That's why there's precisely an exemption for government personnel in Chat Control.

m132··on Android may soon restrict on-device ADB
> This attack vector requires both that the user enabled developer settings and that they have remote adb enabled.

Not just that. A non-development Android build will also prompt the user when a connection is made to authorize the client's key.

This once again isn't about security of users, this is about security of the company's interests.

m132··on Roblox Officially Supports GrapheneOS
Don't get too excited, this still goes against the basic freedom to own the devices you've paid for.

Remote attestation is still there and only official builds of GrapheneOS are supported. While this is marginally better than being tied to a build from an advertising company, you're still out of luck if you want to build the OS yourself.

m132··on LG to ban residential proxies from smart TV apps
Hopefully nobody, but still—it takes just one
m132··on Show HN: Super Dario
Now all that's missing is being able to move and jump at once

23. According to ngrok records, on or about May 12, 2025, at 19:21 UTC, an ngrok account with the ngrok authentication token was created and assigned Account ID ac_2x0b16MSTJk4PvjLZMoqt4vOvZM (the “ngrok account”). Also, according to ngrok records, the IP address of the user who created the ngrok account was 68.235.46.168. According to public IP records, the .168 IP address is assigned to a server hosted by Tzulo. According to Tzulo records, that server is in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and that IP address is assigned to a VPN proxy service.

[...]

25. According to Microsoft records, the ngrok account was set up through Global Device Identifier g:6755467234350028 (“the GDID”). According to a Microsoft representative, a Global Device Identifier in the Windows ecosystem is a persistent, device-level identifier designed to uniquely identify an installation of a Windows operating system on a device, either a physical device (e.g., a mobile phone or laptop) or virtual machine, across certain Microsoft services and scenarios. A GDID is a globally unique identifier tied to the installation of Windows on a device. A GDID remains consistent across Windows operating system updates on a device, but a reinstall of Windows, either on the same device or on a different device, will be tied to a new unique GDID.

26. According to Microsoft records, on or about May 12, 2025, at 19:21 UTC—when, according to ngrok records, the ngrok account was created—the device with the GDID accessed, among other ngrok pages, “https://dashboard.ngrok.com/signup,” the ngrok page to set up an ngrok account.

27. Microsoft records also indicate: (1) the user of the device assigned the GDID accessed multiple sites from Tzulo servers in May 2025, including the .168 server (the IP address used to create the ngrok account) on May 12, 2025; and (2) the user of the device assigned the GDID, on May 12, 2025 at 22:47 UTC, a little more than three hours after the ngrok account was created, the user visited “[Company F].com” from the .168 proxy server.

[...]

29. On January 8, 2025, the device with the GDID used the IP address 213.35.168.50, geolocated to Tallinn, Estonia, where STOKES lived, to visit the URL https://login.growtopiagame.com/player/login/dashboard?valKe...

m132··on EU Council forces Chat Control via fast-track
It's a strong signal to start building such an Internet and slowly withdraw from using anything centralized.
m132··on EU Council forces Chat Control via fast-track
They do, albeit it's a slow process:

Ironically, those are two separate cases of one high-profile EU politician (in fact, the very head of the same parliament that pushes for mass scanning of private messages) BOTH involving secret text messages that the mentioned politician refuses to reveal.

m132··on EU Council forces Chat Control via fast-track
The central bank, council, and commission have to get thoroughly investigated. The amount of questionable decisions coming from those three in the recent (15) years is extremely unsettling. The parliament and courts are practically the only institutions preventing things from hitting the fan at this point, and struggling to do so, it seems.

This is what made me disable JavaScript by default in 2018. I didn't even get this banner.
m132··on QSOE: QNX-inspired OS with dual-kernel architecture
I don't think a MIPS version ever existed. The only public releases that ran on MIPS (6.4 and pre-SP1 6.5) only bundled a handful of Photon-related binaries, which if my memory serves were just input drivers.

There were x86 and more or less complete ARMv7, PowerPC, and SuperH ports.
