2 folks gave you 1000$ each. Amazing

Not deliberate but yeah.

I am curious. Are you able to see our session text based on the session ID? That was big no in some of the tier-1 places I worked. No employee could see user texts.

SCI-FI has always featured sentient AI, and now we might be heading toward actually synthesizing brains. This feels dystopian.

PS: It's still very cool but also scary.

Smart is different than the knowledge. If you learn about these concepts andwork on these problems, then you will be able to solve them.

It's not about you being average, just a different knowledge set.

Poor maintainers also added the legal section - https://web.archive.org/web/20230204131826/https://github.co...

> No video files are stored in this repository. The repository simply contains user-submitted links to publicly available video stream URLs, which to the best of our knowledge have been intentionally made publicly by the copyright holders. If any links in these playlists infringe on your rights as a copyright holder, they may be removed by sending a pull request or opening an issue. However, note that we have no control over the destination of the link, and just removing the link from the playlist will not remove its contents from the web. Note that linking does not directly infringe copyright because no copy is made on the site providing the link, and thus this is not a valid reason to send a DMCA notice to GitHub. To remove this content from the web, you should contact the web host that's actually hosting the content (not GitHub, nor the maintainers of this repository).

How come a compilation of pubic streams is eligible for DMCA? Lets wait to get the DMCA notice to be available, it could be either of following 1. Somebody mistakenly/intentionally added a malicious stream. 2. Or DMCA notice is fraud.

In my experience, it always the 2nd one. There are law firms and agencies randomly taking down stuff on internet with their faulty scripts and crawlers.

Not sure about the claim that async has better Transactionality then REST.

>Transactionality: Each endpoint has either processed a message, done its work (possibly including changing something in a database), and sent a message, or none of it.

Actually English is the most common language across India. Majority of the app ecosystem in India is English only.

In Europe, majority of people can't read English at all. I mean atleast people from Germany, Spain, Italy and France.

I would say Google should ban Google search, because it allows links to the hate speech blogs.

Sarcasm aside, I think its one of the big tech moves to control free web.

yes yes, there are third party DMPs. Phone companies, offline stores etc. all share data with these DMPs. It is quite disgusting. Particularly shady practices done by FB.

But nothing can defeat first party tracking you get with the app.

I worked on user tracking all my life. You can track user activities, interest etc, much better on an app. This data is valuable for in-house use and to sell it to the highest bidder.

Look like we killed another site from HN frontpage.

As suffering from anxiety disorder, It totally hits home. I have been a top notch employee at every place I worked, but I totally bombed most of my interviews.

I went to meta-discussion and learned more details. Most of the thanks comment are written by folks who already have upvote powers. Anyways its a fun read. Grab popkorn and go through it :)

How is it different from upvoting an answer? People who want to write will still write thanks, I already found some posts on the home page with thanks comment and the feature.

Also what about the change in reputation when being thanked? It should be there in the blog post.

It claimed the channel to upload repetitive content. But this doesn't make sense. It takes a lot of research and editing to create such videos. Google is acting like a big bully now.

Interesting. Were they storing/operating unsalted plaintext credit card info? I hope not.

I would say never regret your decision when the future turns out unexpected. You made an educated guess, and you could have no idea that they would be success.

I guess people didn't like that - "it might even be financially prudent to not chase those last 9s of uptime."

It just promotes bad mindset

Any idea why was it removed? I saw many comments criticizing US being downvoted. It is not an baseless story now. There has been statements from German side.

Why upvote or why the story is getting killed?

On the contrary, this makes even more important to upvote this one

I think I need to downgrade it, I took 15$ machine and 5$ space but yeah things are good. There is already a Terraform provider.

Found some benchmarks here - https://rickyhewitt.dev/blog/2019/10/scaleaway-vs-digitaloce...

Overall DigitalOcean looks very promising, both performance and product wise.

App engine is great. But I am looking for a Server. My use cases will vary.

I agree, so I am collecting as many names I could from experienced folks for my research :)

There is a special place in my hatebook for websites which disable copy, this website just earned the top place

After joining Industry I realized how much my university missed to teach me and took me a long time to grab whatever I can. Almost all Indian universities are teaching the same content from decades.

Nothing about Functional Programming, Big data, even Theory of Computation (that was mine :D )

Lols, you searched for Lattice reduction. We never studied that in our universities. Btw, My assumption was wrong. I searched many keywords, and there were no Indian videos at the top. Interesting!
